first and foremost i am a college student majoring in history and a minor in european studies.

One of my main goals in the near future is to obtain an mba, however I worry that my current gpa will not be sufficient and i would not be admitted. Trust me, its low
I have thought about ways that would help me balance my low gpa, and was thinking of taking the masters route before applying for an mba.

However, due to my low grades, I was thinking of working extensively in order to supplement my low grades. I was actually thinking of working for the government and get very good referrals that would boost my resume and applications for post grad studies.

what do you guys think? is this feasible? long shot? damn i really regret not working hard in my first year of college!

*im also not a U.S citizen, if that info helps

If you want to make God laugh, tell him about your plans.

Seriously, all the information is probably already here. Use the search function unless you are aiming for the Save-A-Tool foundation where you need a shoulder to lean and cry on. That won’t be me though.

I’ll comment. What is your exact undergraduate GPA? Why do you want a MBA?

I want a high paying job but I don’t think simply having an MBA will get me that. Dang, I need work experience.

Shouldn’t you get work experience anyways before you apply for an MBA program? Why don’t you just go to a low ranked MBA program that doesn’t give a @#$( about GPA? Maybe even an online program if you have to.

i believe my gpa would be around 2.4 to 2.5 by the time i graduate. The reason I want one is cause lets just say i finally got my priorities straight in life, and am now ready to set out my long term plans, one of those plans is hopefully, i can work at ADB. Honestly I do regret not working as hard as i did in college, too many distractions and i really did not know what i wanted to do with myself. I hope these recent changes in me are for the better though i fear that it may be too little too late.

i do believe that i will get a lot of work experience before i even attempt at applying. It will only add to my application.

Actually i was looking at a couple of schools in the bay area, such as CSU east bay, SFSU, and university of San Francisco among others, would you have experience with them?

OP, like undergraduate admission, graduate program including MBA has a min. gpa requirement. I think you should first check out that requirement at those college’s graduate admission website.

So, if your GPA might be too low to get in a top MBA school anyways, you might want to consider a 4gery… what do you have to lose anyways right…
