Hey harvard kids, do you guys procrastinate?

I kinda got a big problem with procrastination, like im procrastinating writing an essay thats due tomorrow by writing this thread. I already read the common tips in other guides and such, but do you guys have any other, unique ones that seem to work? thanks a bunch!! :D

If you find procrastination is a weakness, why do it?
Not a current H student but just thought I’d pitch in.

OMG. Yes. Being a procrastinator does not preclude success at Harvard if you have the skills to do great work quickly when the deadline is looming.

Exactly. That skill is such a huge advantage, and in my opinion comes from years of procrastination :D

I’m not a Harvard student, but if you get distracted by online stuff:
[Steve Lambert SelfControl](http://visitsteve.com/made/selfcontrol/)

^ I can’t afford to get that software because I would just end up breaking my computer… lol

In my case, quite substantially, actually. I have work to submit at various times throughout certain days of the week, yet in the intervening periods I continue to message-board, web-surf, read for pleasure, and so on, while compelling last-minute bursts of productivity before the respective deadlines. Working can be effectively postponed if there is a basic understanding of the time required to complete the task while adding some leeway to account for anything that might stall one’s progress (i.e., more procrastination). I actually perceive a better quality in my work when time is the predominant (and often sole) motivating force. But non-academic diversions aren’t necessarily a bad thing so long as one routinely reserves a sufficient amount of time for academic purposes and other mandatory obligations. Often the ideal scenario is merely coping with the undesirable effects of sleep deprivation.

^This.
10 char.

Procrastinating right now. I should be sleeping or studying for a test, but whatever. Procrastination = story of my life!

I think my son was going to answer, but he hasn’t gotten around to it yet–maybe next week, or next month–definitely by the summer–well, perhaps not.

My procrastination is linked with my perfectionism. I can’t complete assignments well before they’re due because I will always consider them crap, and usually it’s just a deadline that forces me to hit File –> Print.

We all procrastinate… well at least most of us here.
