Hey, here's a new idea for a list!!

Huh? Last years acceptances at Mich ranged from 2/27 to 3/6. I’m not aware of a specific date this year. Am I missing something? Elon also looks as if it ranged over a few days before the “official date”

Schools that seem to hold to the “this-is-the-date-everyone-finds-out” are: BoCo, Penn State, NYU (in fact, for RD NYU people, they post a video of the Dean hitting the send button on the mass email of acceptances and rejections) and Emerson. Exceptions: Emerson USUALLY sends them out 2 days early…they almost always say “decisions will be on the portal on the 15th” and then they mysteriously show up on the 13th. Very smart, I think. But it’s still all in one fell swoop. For us, Syracuse was the worst, b/c they sent them out in 3 or 4 consecutive Fridays, with a mixture of WL, acceptances, and rejections, no rhyme or reason, nothing having to do with audition date, last name, etc. Just…random. And of course we were in the very last batch. My advice is not to try to figure it out. It’s impossible not to check the portal status or email account or whatever every 3 seconds as the time draws near, but honestly…we will never figure it out. Check past threads for some ways to figure some stuff out if you’re desperate, like your MyIthaca being disabled if you’re rejected from Ithaca, but mostly you just have to wait. And drink. Drinking helps a lot.

(I guess this is not a good place to tell you about Twitter’s @BFAMTAcceptance, where kids post their acceptances and parents lurk and count how many boys and girls have been accepted to various programs so they can obsess about how many slots are still open…? Nah. I won’t tell you about that. That would be mean.)

I don’t think that person is keeping up with the posts on that twitter account. He was an auditioning student last year so I’m thinking he doesn’t care this year. No tweets since April 2014. WHEW!

Thank goodness I didn’t have twitter last year

LOL, good! Let’s hope someone doesn’t start it up this year.

D got an academic acceptance from Pace today, and it states that Performing Arts decisions will be mailed beginning on March 15

Two D’s got accepted to NYU. I’ve never seen that video. Where is it posted?

Syracuse was bizarre but at least you knew you only had to stress on Fridays. Didn’t NYU say they would do BY April 1st (which was a Monday?) and then they notified on the Friday before ( but at least you got an e,ail saying your status had changed rather than just checking portal. I don’t think CMU or Mich gave “hard” dates last year- more “early/late” March and your 1st clue that calls had started was social media…

Maybe the dates hold true for UMich and Elon if you are rejected??? I don’t know either of those schools for sure - just what I had heard.

Sometimes knowing too much information about notifications could drive you crazy because if your notification doesn’t come when you are under the impression they went out, you are flummoxed. I think having a general idea of if it is rolling or one fell swoop is helpful to know but keeping track via social media can have its ups and downs. I recall in my D’s year (and there was no FB at that time!), reading on this forum that the CMU decisions were posted one day…both the yesses and the no’s, and I checked the portal on CMU’s site for days after everyone seemed to have heard and my D didn’t hear a thing. I really could not understand that. It turns out she was Priority Waitlisted and that notification comes out several days after the yesses and no’s at CMU, but we didn’t know that at the time.

Florida State makes decisions immediately after their last audition. This year on March 1st. I think they make phone calls to the lucky few. No wait list. Belmont says early March.
