Since the school-specific forums are largely inactive and because aggregating information eases anxiety for some, wouldn’t it be amazing if there was a list of schools with the first (or first few) dates of last year’s RD acceptances? You could even do the span - first reported RD acceptance to the last. The list would have to exclude in-person admissions and phone-call-as-we-were-driving-home to be of real use as an anxiety-reducing tool for those waiting. Though perhaps it would merely intensify anxiety for some…
If you’re waiting around at Unifieds or snowed in elsewhere or enjoying a pina colada on a lazy afternoon…or really, really love lists.
Probably WAY more information than you are interested in, but for what it’s worth:

Sounds like some programs are already doing things differently this year.
Another take on obsessing. Are you sure you want to go there?? The pit is bottomless. Turn back from the edge while you still can.

Interesting list to ponder - by this time last year there were many schools listed in the acceptance thread. There was news from Wright State, UArts, Catholic, Emerson, Ohio Northern, Coastal Carolina, Elon, UCF, Rider, Hartt, Seton Hill, Baldwin Wallace, Marymount, OCU, Shenandoah, TX State, U of TX, U of Southern Maine and PPU, all prior to February 1. It might be hard to make an accurate list because many people don’t report on CC when they find out for various reasons. It would certainly tell you when it was reported but doesn’t mean that is when the school notified. Nonetheless if you like a list and want something to think about I am sure someone could come up with something.
That’s why I said “reported”. Yes, abyss.
So proud of our lists from last year.
Those really are great lists and good reading from last year
Is there a list from last year that aggregated RD admit dates?
If you are speaking of RD for colleges/universities - no one cared (at least not enough to start a list). If you mean when/how auditionees were accepted/rejected/waitlisted into programs, you’ll have to dig it out of the two threads mentioned above. If someone’s got time to tease it out, have at it. In the end it doesn’t really matter. You can check Your (child’s) Status hourly, accost the mail carrier daily, chew your fingernails a little or a lot, but until YOUR kid gets the notification its all moot. S stayed in limbo for what seemed like years as zillions of others were being accepted to and rejected from one program. And remained waitlisted at a favorite program until the bitter end (actually a few days past March 1 deadline), only to be rejected. Others got un-rejected in June/July. Leave your fingernails as they are. Get some sleep. Read a book. Walk the dog. knit a sweater. Clean out your closet, and basement, and garage, and attic, and car, and maybe your kids’ closets. What will be, will be.
^^He is going to have a very clean house! LOL
The true purpose would be to avoid wasting time looking at a school’s portal until the RD artistic responses usually begin for that particular school. Academic acceptances are all in hand save one. Not wanting to waste a lot of time checking on this (I work) when there’s not much possibility of new info. Not lacking for things to do with my time so I’d rather not devote any of it to pointless activity or anxiety. So, if Ithaca, for example, hasn’t historically made a peep till February 22nd, I wouldn’t bother checking till then. Hope that’s clearer.
But there is some variation- Ithaca did rolling rejections after both NY and Chicago unifieds last year (not sure about campus auditions) but didn’t notify acceptances until later. And the 1st sign of a “no” was disabling the “my Ithaca” (or whatever that one was called) account. Last year a letter followed snail mail a few days later. So if people were getting nos, and you hadn’t heard, you were still in the pool…
Going out on a limb here, but I’d hazard a guess that most of us “work”.
@toowonderful - this was the case with my S at one top tier school last year. Others were getting acceptances sporadically via personal email, many got rejections - generally through portal change. My S got nothing. Rumors flew about when bulk portal changes occur - even out of “horse’s mouth” in program admissions. In the end, S received snail mail rejection two weeks after his status “flipped” on a “random” day, at a seemingly random time - long after we "knew’ all the male slots had been filled. Either you wait for it to come, or expend fruitless hours wondering, “Is it flipping now?” “Is it flipping now?” And historical data isn’t much help. Some schools are already following a different pattern from last year. Factor in Snow Days on the day faculty-historically-meet-to-make-life-altering-decisions; power outages; website crashes; the chair-of-the-department-had-a-family-emergency; one-of-the-faculty-is-stuck-in-Chicago; etc., and you realize there is no clue as to when the anxiety should begin. Be anxious, or not. Check portal, or not. What will be, will be.
OK. So now I will curse you for adding to my frazzled brain the most nauseating phrase; rolling rejections. I have to go hurl.
It’s too late for ‘sorry’.
Unfortunately, there’s an exception for every rule that doesn’t really exist in the first place. Fun, huh?
Some schools that hold true to telling you exactly when you will find out and finding out that day - Emerson, Penn State, Elon…could be others but those are for sure.
Adding to that last post - U Mich, BoCo, Marymount and Rider
