In case you haven't spoken to me yet, I'm applying ID to rice.

I'm meeting my interviewer at a coffee shop tomorrow morning (tomorrow night is homecoming so I had to work around that). Looking forward to it :D

I had mine 2 days ago at starbucks. It went VERY good, no pressure whatsover. It's in a very casual, comfortable setting too, at a coffee house.

GOOD LUCK! knock 'em dead! (not literally - that would probably make a bad impression) :)

lol I'll try not to inflict too much physical damage ;)

and thanks :)

My S had his last month in a .........guess where.........coffeehouse! He enjoyed the experience and said it was very relaxed. The guy wore a Rice shirt so he was able to pick him out. Hope you have a nice interview.

thank you :D

rice alums like their caffeine :)

We went to Rice for the interview...after quickly shoping for clothes at Rice Village (airline lost our luggage for 3 days)! It was very casual and as parents we just walked around and then were invited to participate. They asked some interesting questions and we were able to get the parents things answered/healthcare/how to get to the airport/support for those far from home etc. Good Luck!

I'm back :D

The interview went great! My alumnus was young, had just graduated in 1996, went to Yale Med, and is a resident right now. Extremely intelligent, down-to-earth, really what I expected a Rice student to be :P

Some info for would-be interviewees:
It was about an hour long
Basic questions: your background, your involvement, where your passions lie, etc.
I recommend sending a mini resume before hand so he/she has something to reference, and can come up with questions for you.

I <3 Rice!

Good luck to all who are applying
