hey stage management majors!

i got accepted into Mason Gross school of the arts(in NJ) as well as Emerson college(in MA), which program do you think is better???

Hey congrats on the acceptances! In my research Emerson would be the better program, but it is really about what kind of program you want to be in. Would you mind posting your stats? I am planning on applying next year for their stage management program.

Hey there, sorry for my late reply, but I committed to RU because its more for me imo
Also Emerson’s tuition was about ten thousand more than Rutgers,so it wasn’t much of an option!

My stats? I’m not quite sure what you mean but I have ASM-ed 3 shows and Sm-ed 1 show amongst other various technical positions(lights, sound, backstage crew especially) throughout my high school career.

When I had my interview for Emerson, it was really relaxing and i knew i had aced it, however with Rutgers I felt as if i did a terrible job. Carol Thompson, the woman who interviewed me for RU was so intimidating and sounded like she had a lot of experience. I also ultimately chose RU because it seems as if i can get a more rounded education of the theatre rather than Emerson. But they both are fantastic–just the matter of which one suits you better i suppose. Sorry for the long response!

No it was awesome! Good luck to you. I hope you have a wonderful time.
