<p>Heyy wellll i actually applied for the summer session because i knew that my stats were kind of at the lower end for Upark, so i thought why not. I had a 3.55 and was 10th in my class, my sats were like an 1120, sooo obviously some of you dont have to worry at all about your scores. I am in state, and have many alumni's in my family, and did an essay so that all might have contributed also. i sent my app out oct.26th, and got it back within a month which is really surpising bc they said i wouldnt hear back till January. Buttt I am realllllllllly excited, and hope the best of luck to all, keep your hopes up!!</p>

<p>someone i know just got into UP-Fall semester with a 1090, 3.8 and ranked 65/260 or so. i go to the same school, have a 1140, 3.7, ranked 52nd and take more honors courses. our extra curriculars are not much different. if i don't get into summer session, ill go insane.</p>

<p>I just got my acceptance today (for Univ. Park), I was pleasantly surprised...my stats are not all that great, 3.2 UW gpa, 1 AP, 2070 new SAT, 30 ACT, decent ECs, out of state. I applied in the middle of Nov, which was pretty early so that probably helped a lot...still don't quite know how I got in. Good luck everybody!</p>

In a previous post you said you got a branch of 700 students. Did you request a change to Altoona? My son has similar stats as you. Originally he applied UP than changed to Altoona first choice and Berks second. My daughter is a junior at UP and I know how hard it is to get in. I wonder if he should have kept UP first / Altoona second. Maybe he would have gotten Altoona. Did you request a change of branch by email?
