So I am a bit lost these days and I need some guidance. I am a junior who is a economics major at the University of New Mexico. I currently have a 3.45 gpa, and with the current trend of my grades I will finish out at a 3.6. I really want to go into finance, but I just don't know how I would go about doing that. I want to get my mba, but I hear you need two years of work experience. I have my real estate license, but I was thinking of getting my license for managing securities. I really want to get into managing stock, but I don't know if that is really a profession anymore. I have been interning with a financial advisor that uses life insurance as a tax free income tool. (So she doesn't sell life insurance per say). I have been her intern for two years and she thinks very highly of me. Besides that I don't have a lot of work experience. How can I get some? How do I go about getting my mba without work experience? If it is not recommended should I get a job at a brokerage and work for a while and then get it? I want to go to columbia, and I will match their class profile. Please help, thanks so much.
