Hey

Does anyone know the admission rate for internationals? Thanks..

very small.

Smaller than the overall admission rate?

yes, i'm pretty sure.

yes, it's definitely smaller :(

Its something like 0.7%

source????

It's 6%.

Thanks, Puddy! That's the first time I see a top-tier school openly publish specific numbers for intl. admissions.

I actually thought the rate would be even smaller (I read an article in The DP where some guy wrote that the percentage accepted for intls would be MUCH smaller)

edit: 40% chances for legacies??? that's crazy

Oo.. 2% more than MIT.. haha

Remember that though the internationals admission rate is low (6% sounds right), states like NJ have even lower acceptance rates (2%). States like NY and CT also have extremely low admissions rates...

2% for NJ? Where did you hear that? (I'm not questioning it!)

jhl, I think the admission rate is much lower for MIT.. I've heard 1.5 %

I believe jhl is right - MIT's international admit rate is "~4%". See:

As for NJ's admit rate, I wouldn't be surprised if it was lower than the national average once you removed faculty children and such, but I very much doubt it's 2%.

For internationals needing aid, it's 3% at Stanford.. I know it's silly to compare as 3, 4 and 6% doesn't make much difference but it's FUN!

Does anyone know the admission rate for internationals at yale and harvard? Thanks..
