Hi, CC!! Stressed senior looking for some very needed advice...

How's it goin' everybody?!

First off, thanks for the read, and any advice would be so, very, very helpful.

So, I was wondering how a drop in first semester senior year grades would affect my RD chances at ND...

To preface this, up until senior year, my grades (I would like to think) have been very good. Here's a quick look:

please note that all classes are one year advanced, as well as being Honors/AP (most rigorous courses/curriculum offered at my HS)
Sophomore: 4.4 W, 3.9 UW
Junior: 4.7, 4.0 UW

Top ten student out of a class of 470
ACT: 33 (one sitting)

So, from a strictly academic standpoint (as I believe my extra-curriculars, essays, recommendations are very strong), would a drop in senior grades effectively nullify any chances for ND? It's my number one!!

This year, I will receive 3 Bs (in AP Calc, AP Lit, Phys) which will leave me with an uncharacteristic 4.0 W GPA.

Thanks in advance for the help!! You're really helping out. :)

I think you’re okay. Class rigor is very important, and a B in an AP class still looks very good. Remember that admissions decisions are very holistic nowadays.

You’re fine. Your class rigor should show that the drop is only due to pushing your limits. I have seen the same case with several of my classmates, and they got in. And if it makes you feel better, you seem to be about the same strength of applicant as me, and I was accepted EA.

A big thank you to both of you for quelling my stresses… I’ve talked to many about my dilemma and I’m glad to know that I shouldn’t be AS worried as I am.

Senior year has been soo tough, what with extra responsibilities, college apps, hardest classes, trying to have fun, I hope admissions officers will realize this!

Again, thank you. I truly appreciate the help.
