I know that many of you have similar or better stats or research experience or some other hook. Thats why Id appreciate your honest opinion.

Wow, nice stats!!! I would suggest using your ACT score for admissions rather than your SAT. It looks good on your APP to have self studied APs (shows committment apparently) so props to you there!!! With regards to the Obama campaign, maybe you should leave out the specifics of the campaign in question. (just advice, mind you) I think you have a very legit chance at Duke and WAsh U, while the ivies are low to high reaches. Good luck!!

Ya, Im gonna specify the Obama campaign only if I expand on it in the future. Next year, I plan on taking 4 or 5 AP classes so I wont have to self-study my senior year. :)Thanks for your comments.

Anyone else?

Come on. Someone has a reply, right?

You have amazing extracurriculars and AP scores. The SAT for reading may be a little low, but you should use you ACT score instead because it is really good. Duke should be in your range. Which Ivies are you specifically applying for?

Ok..so your GPA and SAT are good. Your EC's are great! I would write a really strong essay that pulls all your EC's together and can really catch the attention of admission officers. Show them your passion! I think the Ivies are a bit if a reach, but they are for all of us...I have seen people with 800 SAT's rejected and 650 SAT in! I really think with the Ivies it comes down to them (admission officers) looking briefly at your scores and gpa and class rank.... and then you need to get them to OPEN that file and read your essay, and find out who you really are and what your passion is.
Good Luck!
chance me back, thanks!

Well, I think I am planning on applying to Yale, Harvard, and Brown PLME.

Thanks to those that have already responded. Anyone else?

You might get Tufts Syndrome at WashU. In at Mizzou of course, probably with huge merit aid. Good shot at Duke too, I would say in. And at the Ivies, well, it's up in the air for everyone.

Well, I plan on applying for the University Scholars Program in Medicine at WashU so it has like additional essays and other recommendations that only someone seriously considering it would go through the trouble of doing. So hopefully, that doesnt happen.

Let me bump this once.

Bumping again.

Mizzou- In, Hopkins- Match/Slight Reach, Duke- Match/Slight reach, WashU- Match, and Ivies- reaches (they're reaches for everyone IMO).

I'm no expert at college admissions, so don't take my word for it =P

You have great stats. Good luck!

I honestly don't see why you would be kept out of any of those. Which ones are you looking at that you're really passionate about?

Also, what are you really passionate about that you're going to write essays on? They can make a difference.

Also, you said international medicine. Are you looking to do study abroad programs? Some schools are better than others in those programs, so you might want to consider that when applying.

Good luck :).

I really like Duke as well as Hopkins for their course offerings and programs. I like Washu for its Univ scholars program as well as the Conley program at Mizzou. I am also going to apply for the Northwestern and Brown medical programs.

As for my essays, I plan on writing about the humanist approach that ive developed, as well as about debate and its influence or...i havent finalized yet on my common app essay altho ive written everything else.

I would love to go abroad and have looked at Georgetown's international health program, but dont know id there are any more that i can compare to it, which i would appreciate if someone could enlighten me.

Thanks.

Let me bump.

You're probably the only Indian kid I've seen who plays varsity football. That's pretty cool lol.

Ya it is kind of unusual isnt it? But I loved to play so it worked out great.
Bump.
