Hi! Help a Highschooler, Chance this Profile!

I'm a senior, asian male w/ a relatively high income family (I guess that'll hurt me a bit) living in California, and I'm applying to the following for MECHANICAL ENGINEERING:

UC Berkeley
UC Davis
UC Irvine
UC Los Angeles
UC San Diego
Stanford
Santa Clara University
Harvey Mudd College
California Polytechnic State University (Calpoly)
California Institute of Technology (Caltech)
Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech)
University of Southern California (USC)

GRADES:
Weighted GPA from Sophmore to Junior year: 4.45
Weighted GPA from Sophmore to Junior year w/ three Summer College Courses: 4.57
SAT Reasoning: 2180 (M 750, WR 710, CR 720)
SAT Subject: 800 Math II, 740 Chemistry
AP Exams: 5 World History, 5 Calculus BC, 4 US History, three more AP's planned

EXTRA CURRICULAR:
-member, then officer, and currently president of the school's recycling club (1 hr/week)
-PAL city soccer (7 hr/week)
-Math/Spanish (oddly enough) Tutor (2 hr/week)
-School-wide academic award, received twice for STAR testing and best student in Architectural Design
-AP Scholar Award
-100+ hours of Community Service
-I play the clarinet..

Again, I'm going for Mechanical Engineering. My primary concern is UC San Diego.

I would really appreciate your input. Thank you for your time!

PS: If you could estimate my chance for scholarship in the UC's, that would really help. I don't expect much from the Ivy league schools.

Bump :frowning:
I won’t let my thread die without a single response

Your ECs seem a bit weak. If possible, flesh out your participation a bit more. Also, what did you do for community service?

As an engineering major, I would recommend checking into engineering oriented organizations in your area. Electrathon would be a good one if there is a group in your area (manned electric car racing).

I honestly thought my EC was strong enough – I’m a president of a meaningful club and I’m an avid soccer player. Not to mention I broke the 100 hour mark on community service.

Most of my hours came from after school tutoring and my recycling club.

As for your suggestion, it may be too late to squeeze anymore EC. The UC apps (my primary concern) are due in just over a month. Unless I lie on my apps and say that I’ve been doing that kind of EC for more than two months, it wouldn’t be very meaningful, would it?

But thank you for your input! :)
