My graduating class is apparently filled will brilliant overachievers, and, as a result, my class rank has suffered. I have a 4.8 (out of 6.0) weighted GPA and 4.0 unweighted GPA, but I’m not even in the top 10% of my class (I’m in the top 14%, so close and yet so far). I’m applying to top schools, do you think this will significantly impact my chances of getting in?
Huh, I had no idea there could be a GPA of 6. Anayway, your transcript will be regarded in terms of course rigor. If you have taken lots of honors, AP/IB courses and received good grades, that is what will count. And being in the top 14% seems pretty decent to me. Be su’re to applynto a good selection of match, safety and reach schools and you should, have plenty of good choices come next April.
Honestly, if it does affect you then I say that makes me disappointed in the system. It’s often not something you can control. But as the above poster said, you have a lot of options and you should be proud of what you accomplished.
