High GPA but nothing else = no shot at ibanking?

I'm a Junior Chem/Math major at Cornell with a 4.08 GPA.
I realized that aside from my gpa, I have nothing else that would make me attractive to ibanks. My internships in the past have been generic (e.g. summer camp counselor), and I don't really have any ECs.

I realized I should've have gotten more involved but I was just way too busy with working on problem sets and **** on weekdays, and going out on weekends.

Do you think I might have a shot at summer intership positions at decent ibanks?

Have you taken any courses relating to finance or accounting that would show interest in ibanking? Also, how the hell do you get a 4.08 GPA?

You definitely got in with that GPA. lol

I took introductory finance last semester

you will def get interviews...you have very strong majors and a great gpa ...however i would leave my GPA as a 4.0/4.0...it looks more impressive than 4.08/4.0..dont ask why...but it does...just nail the interviews

second the 4.0 comment.. 4.08 just begs the question .. whats it really out of?

the 4.08 is most likely out of a 4.33. Some schools grade to A+ which is weighted at 4.33, and an A is graded a 4.0. Typically the higher ranked private schools, which have grade inflation.

But ye, you should get interviews. Since you are a junior it's a little late in the game but not too late. Your best bet is to attend recruiting seminars from the IBanks and push to land a internship with one this summer. If that goes well then be sure to keep showing interest next year, possible with a part time internship as well.
