I am applying for junior internships at ibanks right now and I just want to adjust my expectations to see how likely I'd be able to land one/BB internship.
I am an econ major at a target top LAC with a 3.4 GPA. I can speak 4 languages, my ECs are pretty strong and I have work experience at a 2nd tier ibank and in consulting, what are my chances?

To be rather blunt, you have a very slim chance of landing an SA position at a BB.

Most BB firms and top investment boutiques have GPA cutoffs of 3.5-3.7 (including GS, JPM, Evercore, Sagent, UBS, ML, MS, etc.). GPA is often used to weed out and filter the thousands of applications they get. If you have the appropriate GPA, only then will they look at the different aspects of your application.

Interns and summer analysts are a dime a dozen - no way BBs are going to pay a prorated salary plus a signing bonus to an applicant with a 3.4 when there are literally thousands of others who are more qualified coming out of top schools. It's the hard truth.

Consider looking at midmarket or smaller banks.

Target LAC? There aren't many. Are the firms recruiting on your campus? If they are then you have an OK shot. From Wallstreetoasis, it seems as if the average gpa in resume books for full time is in the 3.6's. So you would probably be around the 25% range if accepted (I am assuming that internship GPA's run about the same as full time GPA's). If you're submitting applications on the firms website then you have a really small chance of getting an offer (as does most everyone who goes that route).

The best way to land a job is to either try and get an interview when they are recruiting, or network your butt off. Applying online really does not help.

Your GPA is on the low side, but if you have some good connections, I think you might be able to land an internship gig. However, even with really qualified individuals, the chances of doing that are quite small.
