Ok, here's my issue. I'm a junior, male, Florida. My grades are good; 4.25 weighted/ 3.9 unweighted. 7 APs by graduation, 5 Dual enrolled, almost all others honors. Very good EC- selected for county leadership program, 4 years baseball, football, NHS, Collegiate studies class rep, ITS- performed at state level, 100+ hours community service. Problem is, I don't test well- 26 ACT, 1750 SAT. What are my chances? I loved Vandy, I visited last summer and going back for a black and gold day next month.

You are lucky it’s this way and not reversed! You can’t easily fix a low gpa, but it’s “doable” to raise the testing with additional attempts. D tested multiple times and the Sept. ACT (90 minutes away in an adjacent state) paid off for her big time with a 3 point boost into the “30s.” Keep plugging away in that area. Other stuff sounds solid!

I agree, you’re lucky because you are able to retake standardized tests as many times as you want. I would try to raise your scores as much as you can by February. Otherwise, your chances might be slim. Good luck!

February by next year, senior year, right? I should have time to get them up, but I pretty much tense up and freeze in the test room. Funny, cause the DE classes are based on Florida State Un exams and I do fine on them, but maybe just because it is a familiar area…
