After seeing my October SAT writing score, I was disappointed. I got 74 MC (2 wrong) and a 3 essay which equates to a 640. Usually I get 0-2 wrong in the multiple choice section. If I get any questions wrong, I most likely got them wrong because I misread an answer choice or made a simple mistake. However, every time I try to write an essay, I get writer's block and have trouble coming up with ideas that relate to the essay prompt. My highest SAT essay score was a 6 (3 + 3) from the May SAT. Honestly, I enjoy the writing section of the SAT. I'm very familiar with the writing section. I've taken countless practice tests. I know all of the rules, techniques/strategies, types of questions tested, traps the test makers use, etc, so it kills me how my essay score lowers my writing score significantly.

I'm aiming for a 800 in the writing section, because it is a section that I'm very fond of. To make a short story short, how can I raise my essay score to at least a 10 (5 + 5) before the November 5th SAT?

Not to sound pessimistic, but you have FOUR days left…

That’s like, NO TIME to practice. The most you can do right now is to just brainstorm ideas and examples you can use universally and try to string em together for a nice essay. Honestly, if it’s like grammar issues and the like, 4 days ain’t gonna do anything. That stuff is like perfection over time.

Judging from your MC score, however, I doubt you write illegibly, rather it’s just you don’t know WHAT to write.
