High Point University scholarship interviews

<p>I spoke to HPU financial aid office today since I didn’t reply to offer by March 31. The woman I spoke with said “not to worry” about the deadline. But I faxed in our acceptance anyway. It is my understanding that if our student does not attend HPU, we will get a refund if requested, in writing, by May 1.</p>

<p>Decision made. Attending Miami University of Ohio.</p>

<p>“My son did receive aid packages of 15k and 10k from other schools, but has his heart set on this one.”</p>

<p>Of course he has his heart set on High Point, it is like a cruise ship. Be smart and put your kid in SUNY Stony Brook. Economics should drive a college choice.</p>

<p>Can someone tell me how many students attended each of the Presidential Scholarship weekends in 2010? My son is going Feb 11th and 12th. Any idea how many students are accepted into the Honors Progarm? Anything special that we need to know? I would appreciate any advice or observations that you can give.</p>

<p>We just attended the scholarship weekend. Mixed emotions as our son is also looking at a very fine state school. Yes, money is a huge factor for our family, but maybe more importantly we’re not certain that our family values line up with High Point’s values. Oh, of course, we believe in God, family and country. However, in our present fragile and global economy where Americans use such a large percentage of the world’s resources, we also try to adhere to “living simply so that others can simply live.” We felt the Godiva lifestyle (though quite attractive) may be a bit too much.
