If you have gotten into high point university what were your act or sat scores and your gpa?

Here is the profile for the class of 2017. pretty much the same as the last five years. GPA has increased about .15 in the last five years

If you have concerns or questions about your scores, be sure to go to highpoint.edu/admissions and get in touch with an admissions counselor. My daughter just started her sophomore year at High Point University but she had several questions about her scores, grades and after school activities when she was applying. I was very surprised that a counselor got in touch with her to discuss these bullet points during the admissions process. You can look at the website and find a counselor based on your state, homeschool or international student. The admissions counselors even have their pictures on the website so you can put a face with a name at the school!

My daughter was 1080 (Reading and Math) GPA 3.1. She is involved with seven clubs, holds positions in five of them (President, Vice President or Treasurer). She has also started a service club at her school and has helped to organize and run charity events.

Her numbers are not high, so I’m sure they took her activities into consideration.

Hope this helps.

2.8 and 28 on the ACT.

My daughter was accepted ED, has a 4.25 GPA (which puts her in the 12th percentile of her graduating class of almost 500 kids at a nationally ranked public high school), total SAT of 1780 (1180 reading and math), 26 ACT. Lots of leadership experience, including starting a school club that is now county-wide and spearheading a fundraiser that got national news coverage, varsity athlete, state finalist athlete, other activities etc. She is very well rounded with excellent fundraising and leadership experience, but her test scores were definitely not commiserate with her GPA. So far, she has been accepted to all four of the schools she has heard back from - High Point, James Madison University, Elon University and Penn State. Still waiting to hear from Syracuse, Wake Forest, Villanova and Vanderbilt, all of which have spring notifications. Hope that helps.

^^ If your daughter was accepted ED (as in, “Early Decision”) to High Point, she is obligated to go to High Point. You should withdraw your other applications to the universities you mention. “Waiting to hear” is useless and irrelevant, as she is going to High Point. Congrats!

Actually if she applied for financial aid and the package is not enough to allow her to attend then she may break her ED contract. Given how little HP gives in grant aid, if this student needs a lot of aid, she may have to. Also I sure hope her school counselor didn’t let her apply to any of those other schools ED and explained what ED means…

My mistake…I meant EA! After months of all this college stuff, I can’t believe I still get them confused. Sorry!
