When these business schools report high salaries after an MBA of like $150,000, what types of jobs are they usually? I'm guessing IB.

...chaching

It's usually consulting and then IB for top MBA programs.

and maybe a little VC

HF/LBO/VC/IB/Consulting/IM all have possibility for 150k+ after MBA... and I might be missing a few.

Well, just to let you all know, i will be making over 150,000 dollars when i graduate with my MBA....I just thought i would let everyone here know ahead of time....don't forget to wish me A WHOLE LOT OF LUCK!

Would you be willing to share what LBO, VC, and IM stand for? I mean its not like I'm interested in them because of money or anything ;) but yeah.

HF = Hedge Fund
LBO = Leveraged Buy Out (Private Equity)
VC = Venture Capital
IB = Investment Banking
IM = Investment Management

Management Consulting.....god that must be so fun....

LBO and HF are about to bubble, Ibanking pay is starting to get a little high also....the dynamic will probably change in a few years, especially if borrowing rates and tax rates change. Plus the real estate bubble and possible recession down the corner. I'm a wuss and going into IM in all probability, old people will need somewhere to put their money regardless of what happens.

Management consulting actually is the most fun of all these in my view--but I suppose not as much fun as running a Vegas mega-resort.

What are your guys thoughts on -----HF's / S&T departments in I-banks ---- related trading jobs in the next 10 years? Growth/ recession?

Coolness..you forgot about the coolness factor.
