How often is it for high school best friends to stay close throughout college and after college?

I mean as long as both parties are keeping some type of communication, it’s pretty easy! me and my childhood friends don’t text like everyday while at school but we do talk enough to keep a friendship.

my sister had the same experience and her and her friends been out of college for about 2-3 years now. they’re all still keep in contact and everything

It’s really not that hard in the era of fb, skype, etc. My best friend from high school is still my best friend post-college and he’s going to be my person of honor at my wedding. We went to school 10 hours away and only see each other in person a handful of times every year.

It could work if you both communicate daily. See each other on breaks etc. Me and my best friend from high school text once in a while. We are defiantly not close anymore. In fact, I haven’t heard from her since May lol. But I don’t dwell on it. She is living her life and I’m living mine. I guess it just depend on how lose you guys were and how determined you are to stay in touch.

You don’t need to communicate daily.

I’m still best friends with my H.S. best friend after 30 years! We went to colleges in different states, this was pre-internet and cell phones and major long-distance charges to call. We remained friends through writing old-fashioned letters and seeing each other in the summers when possible.

I have known my best friend since we were in the first grade. We went through K-12 schooling together and went to the same in state college in our hometown. As different as our schedules are, I make an effort to see her at least once a week. And of course we always text, Facebook, and email as well. We are still very great friends to this day as seniors in college.

It depends on the situation, but if you genuinely make an effort to keep in contact with one another, there is no reason why your relationship can’t be as great as it was in high school.

My best friend throughout high school dropped off the face of the earth about a month after graduation. It didn’t help that she moved across the country. Nobody that I still talks to has any idea what happened to her or what she’s up to.

On the plus side, most don’t do that and I still keep in contact with my other close high school friends. We may not be best buds like we were in high school, but we’re still good friends and try to see each other when we’re all in town. Actually, a few of them ended up going to the same school as me, and we all try to meet up for lunch once a quarter if possible just to catch up.
