Bought Princeton Review’s PSAT study guide a few days ago. Finally took the practice test last night and scored 163 :(. Now that I’ve taken the first practice test, I start actually studying the book material and hopefully I’ll do better on the final practice test. I’m shooting for 195 on the actual PSAT at least. I’m a sophomore btw.

Also, 2 more classes to bring up a few points and I’ll get my 3.9 Unweighted GPA. I’m sure I can maintain it once I get there.

I got like 173 last year, but had no idea what to expect. I took another previous year’s PSAT at the end of last year and got ~205. Aiming for ~200+ now.

It would be good idea to go grab a PSAT study guide from the book store. Not only will you have practice tests to use, but you’ll know what to expect and how to approach problems that typically appear on the PSAT.

I’m aiming for 220+, but I won’t die if I don’t reach it, as long as I get something higher than 210. So then I can feel slightly safer about being an NMSF/NMF (since my state, FL, has a low-ish cutoff).

I got a 213 last year as a freshman. I don’t really have a goal for this year…maybe a little higher? Or higher than all of my friends again, at least? it feels satisfying. ;)

The PSATs don’t count this year, so whatever. I don’t understand why you would study this year unless you think it’s good practice for the real one.

I secon Anythingtosay. Studying is so overrated except for grades. I want to see what a score I’ll get without studying so I am just being “cool.”

It can’t hurt. Unless you have something else to do. I just worked through a few SAT math/CR problems, and I am really rusty. I hope I can score at least a 180.

Guys, does it look bad that I’ve had an SAT Prep class at school? It’s my eighth period. But the class is kind of useless, there are teachers that know nothing about the style of the SAT.

In my opinion, if you aren’t going to comprehend anything from the class because of the teaching style, drop the class if you can. I kind of look at classes like that as a study hall and I’m sure colleges would rather see you taking an elective or something more time worthy.

They added an 8th period this year and there aren’t many alternatives some are: Medical Terminology, Creative Writing, Health Sciences Technology, Printing/Manufacturing…I don’t know what to do.
