High School Class of 2013

Yankeesfanatic, I feel the exact same way. I’m soo excited for a new coast though.

I’m looking at Harvard, MIT (lol to those 2), BC, Tufts, BU, and Northeastern.

Harvard, Welesley, BC, Northeastern, MIT, and Tufts for my Boston-y list.

I have MAJOR junior burnout. I still have so many tests and finals coming up, plus important projects. And I only have about 16 school days left. It’s unreal, and so stressful. I should be studying for a Pre Calc quiz right now, but I mentally can’t.

I’ve had senioritis since the beginning of this year. I have mixed feelings about going to college; I really want to go somewhere new, meet new people, and get my life started, but on the other hand, I have my friends and my parents here and everything is so safe and comfortable. Leaving it seems so distant, even though I’m now a junior. :frowning: I mean, I’m probably going to be touring colleges soon, since I have my top five in mind, pretty much. It’s so weird!

I was looking at Northeastern, but they don’t have film (a deal breaker for me).

I’ll miss a lot of people in my home city, but I think that the newness of college is appealing to me. :P

Ah nice to know so many people wanna come to my city. It is pretty great. And Cambridge is the coolest. And Leah, we have a LOT of the same schools haha, good luck.

When does the common app come out? And what can we be doing this summer? (supplements, scholarships, anything?)

@iluvbooks Same here! :frowning: I have some major junior year burn out… I literally do not want to anything at all… I feel so mentally strained and I’m just itching for the summer to come on by.

As for boston schools: Lol
MIT, Harvard, BC and Northeastern.

Most of the schools I’m applying to are in MA… (Like Williams and Amherst and the other schools I mentioned; possibly Tufts)

At Yankee seriously DO NOT do that. My family & I stopped in Boston and these guys threatened to jump my dad cause he was wearing a hat nothing by a hat, red sox fans are crazy!

I had a major burn out, but all of the sudden I realized that this is one of the last opportunities I have to look good for college. I want to look back with no regrets so I’m trying to finish strong.

Hope you can survive… :)

How do you quote???

Anyway, I still have a bunch of schools I want to look at, not looking at any Ivies, all of my schools are within 2 hours of NYC many are in the city- what can I say I’m a city girl! :)

How to quote

put 2 [ ]brackets around QUOTE, then 1 bracket, a /, then QUOTE, bracket. Text goes in between.

follow this, except there are no spaces between bracket and letters

[ QUOTE ] text [ / QUOTE ]

Lol, I wasn’t serious about doing that. I have more common sense than that.

It comes out August 1st! And most of the essay topics are the same from year to year so you can kind of go ahead and plan quite a bit [The Common Application Essay Requirements for 2012 - 2013](2021-22 Common Application Essay Prompts: Tips, Samples)

And haha at Boston, I’m in the same position with seriously considering Harvard + BU :P

I wasn’t looking at BU at all, but then I figured that I have a good chance at a huge scholarship, so why not?

What really attracted me to BU was their mailings, I gotta say that they’ve had some of the best. I’d round out the top three mailings that I’ve received with Yale and Vanderbilt, with Columbia pretty close somewhere. Alabama has honestly had the worst mailings that I’ve ever seen, haha. If that’s all the effort that they’re gonna put in to recruiting me, I’m never going there - I’m thinking of contacting them and asking them to stop sending me junk haha ramble

I think the highest scholarship they offer is $20,000 a year, which won’t even cover half of your expenses. I could be wrong though. Yeah I’m just realizing how damn expensive BU is…

Yeah, BU is ridiculously expensive… I would apply, but I’d need some serious aid, and they’re not that greatwith financial aid…

My junioritis is worsening every day.

I swear, I haven’t even really done any homework for the past two months… exams are this week. Studying is a sign of weakness, right? :P

The nice part about Boston colleges is that they’re all on the T. Most have their own stations and everything. It’s super easy to get around the city, and I love that!

I thought about BU, but I don’t like how the campus is so spread out. It’s seriously just a really long street of buildings. I want more of a campus-y feel than that.

@ben: Studying is a sign of strength!!!

This senioritis is already starting to hit me. I literally went the whole weekend without even opening my bookbag to do hw. And I had a chance to finish some project early too… What wrong with me.
