High School Class of 2013

@Mystical: I’m “behind” as well. I’m just going to wait for October, but I’m not sure if I even have to take the SAT II’s. Better if I don’t, that’s for sure!

I’m basically done with standardized testing  I’m going to take the ACT again in september to see if I can raise my 33 to a 34, but it’s already within range for most of my schools so I’m not worried.
Also, I’m going to take Math II whenever the offer it next year, I think september or october. I don’t even need to submit it if I don’t do well, but I feel like if i do do well it can only help. Hopefully I get 800 on that.

I’m pretty behind.

I’m taking USH and bio in June, then the ACT for the first time in September. I’ll probably take math 2 in october. I don’t plan on taking the SAT again (got 2190 last time) because I need the time for subject tests. Hopefully I can get 34+ on the ACT and be done with it.

I should try the ACT. Blagh. Re-taking the SAT in June and aiming for a 2300+. I really just need to work on the essay and on math, because I suck so freaking hard at math.

Once I get 2300 or 35 I’m stopping. I’m convinced that beyond that it doesn’t matter.

Same. And tbh, I’ll probably be content with 2250+ (eeeeven though I’d hate myself a little).

I was so disgusted with myself for being genuinely disappointed with my 2190.

It’s all cause of CC.

Idk my school’s pretty competitive too. There are multiple 2350+ scores here.

I’m not sure If this is true, but apparently the ACT yields higher scores for students. But it’s probably more of what test format students are more comfortable with.

But today I’m working on creating a word doc to arrange what dates I have to send materials to colleges and if they use CommonApp. It’s so frustrating, some of them want special creative home tests restricted by material and paper size, and all the colleges want different things.

Hahaha, THAT excel file with all the school deadlines and stuff. We’ve all got one of those.

^Haha, I told one of my friends about my list thus far for colleges and she looked at me like I was crazy, so it’s good to know I’m not alone. xD

I did an excel for summer program apps. I still have to do the college one.

I can’t decide if I want to apply this year and defer because it’ll be nice to get out of the way or wait a year and apply cause I’ll have more free time then and I’ll stand out more since I’ll be doing a cool gap year.

My superscore is a 2210, and it really disappoints me. My whole performance on the May SAT disappoints me. :(

If you take the ACT with writing, most schools don’t require SAT subject tests. But it’s probably a good idea

Is it true that if you do bad on the SAT’s, you would probably do better on the ACT?
Not to brag, but I’m pretty smart; however, I did awful on the May SAT (1660). I don’t know much about the ACT (most kids in my school take the SAT), but I’d really like to get into a good state college. I just don’t want stupid standardized test scores to ruin my chances. :p

Try it out!

@ShadowMist Based on practice tests, I’m going to do a lot better on the ACT than the SAT. (I’m bound to get around a 32 on the ACT, but only an 1800 on the SAT -__-) Barron’s SAT 2400 book should help you improve your scores on the SAT. It claims to have “proven techniques” to get you a 700 in each area. I found it at my local library. I’m going to start studying with that soon.

I got a 2250 one sitting and the closest I’ve heard someone score in my school was a 2120… and that was with superscore.
I guess my school isn’t quite as competitive. =P

Thanks! Maybe buying a book will help… this time I just relied on stuff I found online for the SAT to help me. I’ll probably take the ACT as well, just to see if it does make a difference. I’m better at more ‘straightforward’ questions, which I hear the ACT is known for.
