My town is 96% white, hah, I’m looking for a bit of a change in college.

Yeees, same here. There’s literally only three other Hispanic students taking honors/AP classes in the same grade as me. Out of 600+ students.

Lol my school is 66% white… 30% Hispanic and 4% black… Yet there’s only 3 hispanics (me included) in the honors classes and no blacks… (out of about 40-50 kids)

What a shame.

I’m happy I go to my school then…60% white 20% Hispanic 10% black…of course there are Asians but a very very small number…like 6 in my graduating class small

Possibly the worst part is almost all of the diversity comes from our other two geographic areas (air force base and Boston).

It’s…really awkward sometimes because it can get tense between a town with no racial variety vs. a program that caters almost exclusively to a certain race vs. the only place you might meet a person that isn’t ‘exclusively’ ‘white’ or ‘black’. Sounds vague, but without the base and Boston there would literally be 1 black kid, no hispanic kids, and maybe 5 asians in my class of ~200.

My school has racial diversity, somewhat. We’re probably 50% white, 40% Native American, 5% Asian, 3% black, and then the rest with don’t fall into any of those categories.

My school’s pretty diverse. About 20% Asian, 50% white, 10% black, 10% Hispanic. 10% other.

My school is as mixed as can be.

I’ve visited: College of Saint Rose, SUNY Oneonta, SUNY Cortland, CUNY City College, and Pace University

I know they aren’t exactly what most on CC look at so if anyone wants info on them let me know :)

@Jazzii, whatd you think of Cortland? Considering it, but like 20 kids from my school go there each year so i’m not sure if I would really want to.

I liked it, but it wasn’t for me. Honestly the town directly around it is empty, there’s like 1 hotel, 2 pharmacy’s, a car wash and a supermarket… Not too exciting. However the actual school itself is very nice. The school itself is a city, they have their own bus, stores even. their own brand of water, Very cool, plus they have this HUGE vending machine with anything you could possibly need. Um, the college was SUPER sports oriented, the have an amazing gym along with all levels of sports; the gym is free and so are the classes, the dorms, from what I remember were average size, the “large” lecture room that I saw only had 100 or so seats.

Um, I’m horrible at talking without any specific points, so if I missed anything let me know and I’ll try to help

Also, have you considered Oneonta- def fell in love with that, I could brag about that school lol.

wow, thanks
That was deff more info than I could have found online. I felt the need to look up that vending machine you said about on youtube. Haha its like a whole store in one. What major are you looking into?

I’m actually torn between majors- its something in education or psychology or clinical psychology or some other type of social science lol. So I’m look more liberal arts/ humanities colleges lmao. (more then likely I’ll double major in pyschology and education)

And the vending machine amazing isn’t it???!!! It even had a gallon of milk and boxes of lucky charms

@Jazzii; No big deal haha, I feel so alone sometimes when people ask me what schools i’m looking at. I feel obligated to throw an Ivy in once in a while, but it’s alright…

The place you visited sounds so cool though, haha. A bike shop? Nice!

Speaking of bike shops, I only just realized how sad i’d be if I left my bike at home. I don’t know why, but it only just occurred to me that I should take it with me.

Pshhh, ivy leagues… Who wants to get into those? lol. And you might as well bring your bike if you have the room, better than walking across campus to class on a 90 degree day.

Not a lot of 90 degree days happen during the school year around here.
I dunno where i’d store a bike though, when I visited UMD I didn’t mention/ask/see a place to put 'em. I’d be worried about someone stealing it.

^ Really? Most of the schools I’ve visited had some sort of bike rack or storage where you can lock up your bike. But then again most of the schools I’ve seen have had relatively large campuses where using a bike is almost a necessity.

Maybe I wasn’t looking hard enough. I probably wasn’t, considering my brother was being annoying and just wanted to go home.

Although, i’d rather be able to store it inside, with that New England weather and all.

Ohh, yeah I don’t blame you. No point in bringing a bike if its going to get ruined or stolen.

[DOTS :: Bike](http://www.transportation.umd.edu/bike.html) - maybe that’ll help a little

^ Wrong UMD again…hahaha

See, I’m not the only one who got that confused at first!

She means this UMD: [UMD Web Site - UMass Dartmouth](http://www.umassd.edu/)

literally dying rn…all of the flights for tomorrow got cancelled bc of a fire in the air control tower of the airport i was leaving out of so now i have to cancel everything for my duke/unc visit ugh
