^^^ I’d like this whole application filling out thing to be over alreadyyy

I feel stressed about college apps, true, but honestly, I take pride in knowing so many of my classmates are going to be freaking out come crunch time while I sit back and take it totally like “hell yeah, I got this.” I just really need those essays and rec’s because I’ve got my scores and grades laid out ready to go. It’s a weird feeling.
That being said, I think I just now understood true senioritis. After going on a dozen college tours in the last few years, everything’s blending together. I don’t plan on slacking off–small but still tough schedule–but now I just want to be done.

I’m almost finished with the common app essay which is extremely nice right now. I think I’m going to do mostly essays until school starts, so I can have only easy stuff then.

I’ve now finished the Common App! Except for the essay… Mlehhh.

Meh, I filled in what I could remember off the top of my head. Can’t do much of the academic stuff until school’s in so i’ll have to wait until September. u_u

Also might be getting a job during the school year with sublime hours, which would be a gift from the gods.

I’m done with everything with the exception of the essays.

I agree with @commanderkeen, I’m going to be laughing at all of my classmates when they’re sitting around freaking out and I’ll be like “Oh hey, senior year chilllennnnn”. I’m just so excited to get everything done and over with!

You guys have finished that much of the app already?!

How long does it take to actually fill everything out?

Also it’s seriously annoying that I’m applying to 2 schools that don’t use the common app. Like seriously, just use it. At least one of them doesn’t require a recommendation.

Not very long.

I didn’t know that there was a EC short answer. NOOOOOO.

Not very long. Some of it’s stuff that’s super simple, like your name and your parent’s information. For me that part was tricky, because my dad implied in a conversation once that he has a certificate or something yet he never went to college…well, i’ll come back to that one later.

Other categories, like the activities, is going to take me a lot longer. I’m probably going to do a little bit every day.

Also, I thought it was kind of funny when I added up the hours/wk that i’m involved in JROTC, it was like 10+ hours a week for 43 weeks out of the school year. Dear lord, they’re going to think I have no life.

I finally have my essay topic picked out!

I made an account. I think that’s enough work for tonight.

I did the essay. I have a lot of revisions to do though. At least I have it written though

Yeah, I thought that the EC list was the strangest. “Approximate time spent”… well… I have NO idea.

Some things I have no idea how to answer on the common app:

1) my school counselors title is “school counselor.” this seems repetitive seeing how the question on common app is “school counselors title” - uh.
2) the brief essay space after ec - is this where I just give a description, or form some sort of creative paragraph about one of them? Should this be like a story response (one my major accomplishments in this ec was…) or a quantative response (I.e. I spent x # of hours doing a,b, and c)

This thing is tedious and obnoxious.

Tell me about it.

I think we’re supposed to say why the EC is important to us in the short answer. how it’s helped us grow, how we like it, that kind of stuff

I must be the only person who prefers regular college apps to the common app. :P

The EC short answer could be a short take of something, or it could describe your EC, or it could be a creative paragraph… as long as you elaborate more on one of your ECs.

@twentythirteen: ME TOO. The Common App is much too… comprehensive… compared to other apps.

Seriously. Like my safety, the state flagship school, has an application that takes like a minute to fill out and doesn’t ask nearly as many questions and best part, no essay!
