Chiaa94- I love photography too! I don’t want to go to school for it, but I volunteer to do commercial work with a museum. I have a website and everything! Haha.

My favorite is landscape photography, what about you?

@chiaa are you someone that has to go to like a big name school like Columbia or something? If not SUNY Purchase is a very artsy school and it’s cheap another school, although i Don’t know if it actually has housing is Mercy College. It’s a small liberal college in tarrytown NY. Another school that does not have housing but a lot of the apartments nearby rent out to students is Pratt Institute oF art in Brooklyn, NY. Of all of these you’d probably get the greatest “college” experience at SUNY Purchase.

My goal was to start a website where students could come together to share information and reviews on high schools, colleges, and programs. Students can ask advice and get answers on how to further their academic success. It will help them never miss out on programs that are available to them. It’s in BETA if you want to check it out and be the first few users on studentcollide.com

@hatshepsut I really love portraiture I use my sister as my main model and I “snipe” my friends I think some of those ones are the best because they aren’t being told pose like this but that they are just being themselves I’ll shoot anything though I just did a whole shoot of birds growing up I shot some flowers there’s this girl in my school she is really good she has the saying mind like a shutter eyes like a lens. I love it give me a camera and I’ll be perfectly content :)

@jazzii thanks for the suggestions I’ll check them out I really am aiming for out of new York though I’ve lived here all my life I really want to go out and experience more of the world ya know? I know the cost will be a bit more but I think to a degree it would be worth it for the experience

I’m curious, how many APs are normal at your school for junior year? I’m taking three, but most people are taking one, if any at all. People just don’t want to challenge themselves. What’s the norm at your school?

The way my (Ontario) school functions is that they won’t allow you to write any AP exams until grade 12. So all your “AP” courses in Grade 11 are basically just AP prep courses. So none, in theory…although I’m taking 4 of those courses.

Well, my school is really competitive, and everyone takes about 3 in junior year or less…Everyone has at least 1 AP in there schedule. And usually the seniors have about 2 or 3 at least for everyone.

Is it just me, or do you guys want to get junior year over with so we can start applying to colleges! lol. I am so excited to be closer to college!!! GRRR …the suspense is killing me. lol.

Did anyone take SAT subjects…I did…I was a little disappointed…I’m wondering if I should retake. I got a 610 on my MAth 2…I wanted a 690 - 730…I wassn’t asking for much…lol. But next years going to be so hectic and I want to take SAT Chemistry and SAT US history…gaaahhhh…what should I do?

If you feel like you can do better, then you should definitely retake.

I’m having trouble planning mine out.
I’m taking BioM in October, and that’s all I know right now.
I also planon taking Chemistry, Math II, French and maybe Latin.
I’m taking AP Chemistry/French next year, so I’ll probably take the subject tests next June.
Now for Math II, I’m not sure. Would it look bad if I don’t take it?
I plan on majoring in biology/biochem.

What is a good enough score on a SAT Subject Test to send to a really prestigious college, such as Duke, Princeton, Brown, etc.?
Because I took World History and I got higher than I was expecting, but compared to everyone else on CC that took it (I went and lurked the score results thread), it’s not perfect.

Also, I’m taking 4 APs junior year and I’m self-studying 1. I think the average of people at my school (people that take APs at all) is about two or three.

And @Mrluggs, can you please explain to me the difference between the two Biology SAT tests?
