I asked my teacher about it today and I think I have it figured out for now, but I’ll definitely let you know if I need help. Thank you! :D

@whostolemycookie no, my school does not have tryouts. there’s not really enough interest for them to hold tryouts. but we do have quite a few superstar debaters who have competed nationally.

Waiting for September 4th…and August 28th (that’s when I get my schedule)…

Apparently, from what I’ve heard from the seniors, juniors, sophomores, and freshman in college brother, this is going to be the hardest year for me. Yay for starting high school sarcasm

^Really? I’ve heard from everyone that junior year is very challenging…of course, it all depends on the school you go to!!

^yeah same here. i’ve been told it’s 'cause junior year is basically the last year to show what you’ve got before you apply. (especially if you apply early)

It’s because I’m ahead, so the stuff I would do in Junior year, I’m already done with most of it. I also heard the teachers I’ll have are VERY lenient and easy.

^Wait, so you’re taking junior year classes as a freshman…I need to look at your schedule again…LOL!!

I just looked at your schedule…you’re so smart:D…you’re going to be taking AP Calc which is typically a junior or senior year course…

Tryouts are neccessary for Academic Team, 18-24 tryout, but only 16 at the most can make it

Debate, which is broken into Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Novice (freshman only). Theres about 40 members
And everyone makes it. We have a lot of wards and do hist an annual competition

So how much time are you guys willing to devote to extracurricular/after school activities per week? Just takin’ a poll.

2-3 days after school. 2 days before school. Any saturdays neccessary. And Piano on Friday afternoona

I just finished my fitst ever XC meet. 9th over all pretty good for a freshmen i think!

Wow congratulations! Pretty impressive. :p

Is it bad if you don’t do a sport? I’m not very athletic :p, anyways, probably like 3 days after school, 1 day before school, and saturdays.

I don’t think it matters. Colleges will understand that not everybody is athletically gifted. Just dont fail Gym :)

Lol I hate being in the sun so I’m taking dance next year to fulfill my PE credit :o

But I don’t think not playing a sport is a big deal. Even if it was, I don’t think I would do it because I can’t commit that much time to something I dislike. My athlete friends couldn’t join any clubs at club fair today because they’re booked every day after school.

I want to find a way to Fill my second year of PE Credit, without, well…actually doing PE. We can do summer gym, but I rather take a course at a CC during that time, for now, im gonna try to find a way around it, but if I have to, oh well then. Also, od you guys think its worth it taking a 3rd year of a world language (spanish 3), or should I stop at spanish 2 and take a course that interests me more. I’m confused because I hear top colleges like MIT require 3 years.

Im not sure how you get around PE, I always thought it
Was generally madatory.

Id keep doing Spanish if it was me. Language paths are.pretty good.to continue with

Yeah at my school no one really gets out of PE unless it’s a medical condition or they (1) play a sport, (2) are in marching band, (3) take dance.

I agree with Atlantic. I would continue with the foreign language.
