Sounds fun. One of the reasons I didn’t enjoy public school was that even “accelerated” classes were filled with dull, unmotivated people.

Only 5 people in my AP Human Geo class took the AP test. My spanish 2 class was just a joke.

My entire Spanish II class except a couple of freshmen and me got a 40 percent or less on the last test. Like, seriously.

Oh, @mrnephew is a freshman! I grossly overestimated your age m8

I like these guys. Better than 16ers.

Mostly because the 17ers are the only ones who don’t really post here.

Do I sound older?

Uh no.

Good. I’d hate to be sounding like cranky upperclassmen.

@mrnephew
You posted along side the other old people, so I assumed so.

Also, you have more posts than le spam master, a.k.a @Apollo11

Sorry to intrude (this feeling of intrusion is probably why I’ve never posted on the Class of 2017 board before even though I am a part of the class?). I was looking at a lot of other people’s schedules for next year…and wow. Has no one heard of an elective before? Most people on CC count their electives as higher core classes. sigh

Looking for some input/a rating for my 10th grade schedule:

English 2 Honors
Common Core Math 3 Honors (in place of Algebra 2 Honors)
Chemistry Honors
US History 1 Honors
Spanish 3 Honors
Newspaper 1 (yearly) (really excited!)
Creative Writing 1 (also anticipating this, though I hear, for some reason, it’s incredibly difficult?)

Many CCers view certain APs as electives since they are exploring their interests, just at a high level of rigour

Haha, you should have seen me post on March 10. My post count went up by about 500 that day, if I remember properly.

Ahh the good old days when we didn’t know where we were going to school next year. @mrnephew

Yeah, Prep School section is so quite nowadays…

@MissSuzyQ My schedule doesn’t allow any spots for electives since I have to do foreign language and PE and I have 6 periods in the day.

I meant to say quiet.

Yes, quite

@dsi411 , that makes sense. This year (freshman year), I was taking Gym, Spanish 1, Spanish 2 and Intro to Communications (pre req for Newspaper) as my electives so I understand that. By all means, I view AP Psych and even AP Gov as great electives to take, but while I know many people on here have a deep love for math and science, taking multiple extra math and science classes as electives seems strange to me. I just think that many a time they are solely taking those courses for how colleges will perceive them instead of general interest since you’ll see many people take only AP classes as their electives in order to advance themselves in ways that I think are just unnecessary.

Being on CC is the only time I feel like a slacker. :)

Hi guys.
Does anyone else have a problem with SATs? Like I’ve studied for about 2-3 years, but of course never super intensely. I’ve solved most of the problems but my score won’t improve!
Do you think it’s because I haven’t learned everything yet; I get confused with the answer choices because I have taken all the tests; I’m not trying hard enough; or any other reason?
Sorry I’m just pretty concerned…
