My school has the GPA scale online so you can do it yourself. Here is how my school does it. The unweighted should be the same at all schools. This is with your FINAL GRADE ONLY. To get it, add all of the numbers then average it by how many classes you took.

Here is the scale for unweighted:

A = 4.0
A- = 3.7
B+ = 3.3
B = 3.0
B- = 2.7
C+ = 2.3
C = 2.0
C- = 1.7
D+ = 1.3
D = 1.0

F = 0

Weighted for my school:

CP Classes are the above scale

Honors:

A = 5.0
A- = 4.7
B+ = 4.3
B = 4.0
B- = 3.7
C+ = 3.3
C = 3.0
C- = 2.7
D+ = 2.3
D = 2.0
F = 0

AP:

A = 5.5
A- = 5.3
B+ = 5.0
B = 4.7
B- = 4.3
C+ = 4.0
C = 3.7
C- = 3.3
D+ = 3.0
D = 2.7
F = 0

@livelaugh7 I’m going to do SciOly this year; but my school usually doesn’t get past states (and even then, I’m assuming only the A team makes it, since they don’t let multiple teams from one school go to states). It’s Science Bowl and stuff that we’re good at.

My school’s GPA scale is just:
Anything in the A range: 4
Anything in the B range: 3
And so on…

Alright my school is kind of messed up then. I have a 5.3 which converts to a 3.5 but I’ve never made a B in my transcript :/. My school does it percentage wise and my weighted gpa is less than my unweighted gpa.

Hello guys. Long time no see. I cannot wait for Sophomore year to end so that way I can enter the official IB Program. Currently, my schedule is
Drama V Pre-IB
Pre-Calculus Pre-IB
French III Pre-IB
English II Pre-IB
AP World History
Chemistry I Pre-IB

So far, I’m digging my whole class. Especially Pre-Calculus, I have a 100 in that class :-). Anyways I hope you guys are doing fine. I’m not sure about AP World History-- all my teacher does is read the power points instead of explaining and it’s not even hers…

@topaz1116 I’ve never done it; I didn’t know it existed at my school. I’m excited but I don’t think our school is great at it. First meeting next week!!!

Using @livelaugh7 scale, I have a 3.98 gpa. If anyone is wondering this is how my school does it (weighted). 6.0 is for Pre-AP/AP classes, 5.0 for regular, and 4.0 is for special ed. I was forced to take 2 regular classes last year so that’s part of what lowered my gpa to a 5.3 (otherwise I would have a 5.5). It’s impossible to get a 6.0 unless you make 98-100 in every class.

@livelaugh7 Unweighted, weighted would be 4.057.

Yeah, regular classes really weigh you down using my scale. But I’m assuming colleges would take this into account anyway so hopefully not as big of a problem as I thought. I think this might be a Texas thing though because I’ve read a couple posts by others who’ve had the same scale.

@lyra88 I’m in French 5, but I think I could help. At my school, French 5 follows 1/3rd of the AP curriculum. Honestly if you’re only in French 3, I wouldn’t jump to ap French
