High School Class of 2017

@topaz1116‌ I need to stress about my AP Macro grade. I got a 62.5% on the second test and a 75% after test corrections. Im at a 78% and need at least a 90%

so I’m that one girl who has a 97 in calc and forgets how to factor on the psat

top kek

@ThatOneWeirdGuy Are we allowed to share our PSAT scores? I know we’re not allowed to discuss the content of the test, but I’m not sure if I’m allowed to talk about how many questions I got wrong (I assume I can because the scores have already been released).

I had my first test for AP World today, it wasn’t bad. It was harder than I thought but the grade is curved, so chances are I’ll get an A.

@Greninja‌ When did your school start that you’ve only had one test yet? How many chapters was it on? In my class our tests are on 2-3 chapters. But maybe your textbook is different.

Oh my gosh guys, I’m pretty sure my PSAT session was filled with testing mis-administrations. My test administrator never had us fill out the address section or the sections about what major you’re thinking about in college. Oops.

@MissSuzyQ you’ll be fine. you don’t need a home address because the score reports and access codes get sent to your school, and the major thing just gives you a list of a bunch of jobs that you could be interested in.

also, got that 89.58 in ap lang…praying for rounding.

@Greninja‌

Um, yes, you’re allowed to talk about your scores… Why wouldn’t you?

So how many do you think you got wrong in total when you got a 162?

Okay, thank goodness! I’ve been thinking about those absent boxes for awhile. Yippee for the PLAN test this Wednesday.

@dsi411‌ My school uses a block schedule so I’ve only had AP World History for a week (I started this term last week).

Thinking of picking up this book called “What Smart Students Know” at the library next week or so to improve my study habits. Have you guys read it yet? I’m curious to know because I want to become a better student this term and I’m looking for books to read about the topic.

(Hi folks I’m new here, but also a 2017’er)

IMO the PSAT wasn’t too bad… I know I missed one on math (because 6.5 - 4 is definitely 1.5…) but I think I got in the 220’s to 230’s overall

I think I’m getting a B/B+ this term for APUSH

@loquatical‌ , OMG YES! I’m making a 98 in AP Calculus AB, and I saw Logarithms on one of the practice PSAT and completely forgot about them. Then, I remembered exponents and I remembered them xD

You’re allowed to talk about scores. That makes no sense; why wouldn’t you be allowed to?

Speaking of stuff making no sense, I have a B+ in Spanish because of a culture unit. She wants us to have exactly what is on her little answer key, or no credit for the question. -_- It should be an A by the end of the grading period though.

I hope my AP English Language grade doesn’t go down because of the two socratic seminars that I didn’t participate in. I was too scared to say anything. I currently have an A but they are the only two things in the speaking and listening category which makes up 15% of my grade I believe, so I’m guessing my grade is going to go way down after the teacher puts in the zeroes.

I don’t like socratic seminars.

@Greninja‌ Oh, that makes sense.

@dsi411‌ Is a Socratic seminar where the speaker continually asks the audience questions? Sorry to hear about your grade. The teacher must know you’re a good student, you think s/he’d be concerned that you would rather get a much lower grade than speak in class. But, I know what that sort of thing feels like. I used to be very socially anxious. I’m kind of lucky I go to a small school, so I know everyone to some extent.

@ThatOneWeirdGuy‌ It’s when the whole class (of about 35) is in a circle and we have to talk about a passage that we read in preparation for an essay about it. In this case it was the I Have a Dream speech by Martin Luther King Jr. We are graded on how many times that we speak but speaking in front of people is hard for me.

@ThatOneWeirdGuy‌

At our school at least, a Socratic Seminar is where the teacher simply prompts the group with a question, and the group is responsible to discuss the question using evidence from whatever is being discussed, so somewhat like that.

How are you in AP Lang as a sophomore???

Guys how are you grades doing? I think I’m gonna end Q1 with

Honors Bio (A)
Pre-AP English (A)
Honors Chinese 2 (A+)
Algebra 2 (A+)
American Government (B+)
Honors Spanish 3 (B+)
Latin 1 (A+)

How does that look? I can’t wait for the sports season to be over so I actually have time to study!!!

BTW does it look super bad to do a sport for 9th and 10th, but not 11th?

My grades Q1 looked like:

Calc AB: A
AP chem: A
AP Macro: A
Ap Comp sci: A
Hon. English: A-
photography: A
french 3: A

no A+ at our school, or I would’ve had one in Calc and Chem (assuming 97 to be the A+ cutoff)
