@Calchong My school does AP Lang in 10th grade and AP Lit in 11th so that if you are doing the IB program in 11th and 12th you will already have learned about non-fiction since they don’t teach that in the IB English curriculum.

@Spiral7 I have all As now but I’m concerned that my English grade will drop. Your grades look good though!

Honors Precalc: (it really depends on what I get on the midterm and whether they use ranks or letter grades; anywhere from a B to an A-)
English H: A
Spanish 3: A-
Chem: B+ or A- (depending on what I get on Monday’s test)
World History: A+
Engineering Design: A
Marching Band: A- (I dunno about that grade because it’s not online and I turned in a practice sheet late… But I’ve heard the worst grade anyone’s ever gotten is a B+, and that’s the worst student in the class; if the teacher gave anyone else a B, they’d drop out since the course isn’t mandatory)

My school offers Honors English 11 for juniors (we don’t have Lang, for some reason (some of the other schools in our district have it), but the course is one of the two honors courses at our school that are UC weighted) and AP Lit for seniors.

I still have till next Tuesday for all my grades to go in (and multiple quizzes and tests that will go in by that time), but as of now, my grades are:

American History 1 Honors-A
Newspaper 1-A
Math 3 Honors-A
Spanish 3 Honors-A

I left my phone at school and it’s either in the Biology room, Engineering room, the office, or someone pick-pocketed me. xD Either it’s laying there in either room, one of the teachers have it, or a friend of mine has it. Or the less likely scenario of a janitor or student stealing it.

This sucks. I REALLY hope I get it back. >.<

Once, I left my phone in my Geography classroom in a keyboard that rolled in (so you couldn’t see it unless you rolled the thing out, if you know what I mean), and me and one of the campus supervisors spent the entire lunch walking around to find it.

Thankfully, we eventually decided to check back there, and saw that it was there.

@dsi411 Woah, your entire class participates in a Socratic seminar at once? Last year when we had a seminar the teacher would randomly choose five or six people to participate in a seminar the next day, so the more introverted people can have enough time to prepare and take notes. I find it that if there’s something I really feel like saying and would contribute to the group effort, I say it anyways and I convince myself that I shouldn’t be scared of speaking out loud because it’s highly unlikely that the class will judge me.

I LOVE socratic seminars @dsi411 The teacher poses a question and we talk for a whole class period. Its so much fun; we do it in APUSH :)

my grades suck

Chemistry H - A
Sophomore English H - A
Health & Fitness - A
AP US History - I have no clue (anywhere from a B- to a B+… maybe even an A-)
Pre Calculus H - same thing here (either a B+ or A-)
Spanish 3 H - A
Physics H - no clue… I think its anywhere from a B+ to an A

Tough semester, tough teachers, a lot of health problems added on top of the stress and PSATs to top it off.

Hopefully next term I won’t screw up like I did this term. Term 1 ends Oct. 31 (Happy Halloween)

I think I’ll be able to pull of a 4.0 this semester, which is the main thing I was worried about. I’m way in the top 40% of my precalc class (the percentage that gets an A), and my only other B is chem, and that’ll raise up easily.

Tomorrow I get to skip fourth period and go down to the junior high to give a presentation on the club I run there (and I’m a little glad it’s fourth period, because fourth period is Spanish and it’s boring).

@livelaugh7 I used to like socratic seminars, when we did them in 9th grade they weren’t graded and we got to talk about interesting issues like marriage and race and religion and stuff. I didn’t say anything but I liked listening to what my classmates had to say and they contributed even though they weren’t being graded. And I don’t think your grades are that bad.

@dsi411 we are graded as well. But participation is considered talking or being attentive and taking notes. I like to talk as well. Regarding the grades, the struggle to not do poorly in APUSH drives me crazy. And my math grade is pretty low. Oh well. One week left in the term.

@Calchong Yes, very lucky. Except the tests cost a lot of money. I hear they give people who take 3 or more exams a discount at my school, I wonder if it’s true. Luckily colleges aren’t supposed to compare you to people who went to schools with more opportunities like mine.
