High School Class of 2018

What would you rather they say, though? In most cases it’s not possible to be completely accurate when you’re teaching something at the introductory level. It’s actually kind of cool when you find out that what you once thought was impossible (say, subtracting a bigger number from a smaller number) actually is possible if you open your mind a little.

Greetings future freshman from class of 2017. I remember being a freshman like it was last week which it literally was. Anyways don’t treat freshman year as a joke I know many other underclassmen and upperclassmen who wish they did better their freshman. Also don’t freak out about college, you got 4 years to figure what you want to do with your life, what college you want to go to and what you major should be. By the way if you’re taking biology, good luck! Also high school isn’t as bad as it sounds and the majority of you already know most of the kids in your grade. All you’re doing is switching to a different school and going to school with older kids, you’ve done that for a majority of education life. Anyways wish you guys the best of luck in high school and see you in the fall.

Time to put my schedule
common core english 9 G/T
Ush G/t
Bio G/t
Com Sci 1 G/t
Chinese 3 honors
heath G/t/
Pe g/t
Ap calc Ab.
Going to try to switch Ab to bc, bio g/t to Ap. an comp sci to Ap physics C.

WOAH That’s your freshman schedule??? Good luck O_O

One question, though. How can you have G/T PE? xDD I’m guessing G/T is like Honors.

I like how the '18 thread is more popular than '15 and '16, even though we still have four more years… @wcao9311‌ That schedule looks awesome. My HS’s inaugural year is this fall, so we don’t even have AP’s yet.

Btw, is being a school board member a good EC? I currently am one and will hold my position for another year or so until elections start up again. I honestly kinda like it, so I’m thinking I might try for re-election as a sophomore, or is it a waste of time?

I think it depends on what position you are on the school board and what you do and how it affects the school. If you’re just a member and do nothing then it’s a waste of time

@Cookiesandcreme‌ Thanks for the insight. I’m actually fairly proactive (I speak up on issues that are relevant to student life, not all of the esoteric fluff in a school board meeting), and they do consider my opinion and recommendation vote. I try to make it to most of the community events, like any polite incumbent officeholder. Like in a week or so, my high school will have its grand opening with campus tours and everything, and I’m pretty pumped for that. How many of you guys are going to a fairly new HS, or am I a lone wolf on this?

g/t pe is an error.

Oooh sorry! I actually thought it was a real class xD

Should I do orchestra or choir? I like singing but I really want to play the cello or violin though I have no experience. Whichever one I do I plan to be in it all four years. Have you guys done orchestra or choir? What were your experiences? Which one is more fun?

@Cookiesandcreme‌ I’m joining orchestra for my freshman year, but I’ve been playing for four years and plan to audition for a bunch of youth orchestras and stuff like that. Choir seems pretty cool, but really it’s your choice of preference.

Bump?

Sorry for bumping this to the second page so quick. Here’s another bump, @LosingCrayon‌

What colleges do you guys want to go to?

I am going to be a freshman this year. I am currently self studying Analytical Geometry (I have 2 weeks left) so I can exempt out and move on the Pre Calc. Any tips? Thanks!

Enjoy your last few weeks of freedom…

Ap Calc as a freshman. Wow.

Well how have your summers been? :P

this is way too soon…
