Is anyone excited for school to start?? I’m getting way too nervous.

I’m excited! I start in about 2 and a half weeks…

I start on August 12! The only thing left for me to do is summer reading :< I got my schedule on Friday though I’m pretty happy with it, but every class is on the opposite side of the school from the last class… I guess at least I’ll learn my way around fairly quickly? :3 (I hope that sentence was grammatically correct, I can’t adverb good)

I start on august 12 too! I’m so excited to get my schedule on Friday!! Totally hoping to get into AP biology!

@Cookiesandcreme I’m taking AP Bio! I just got my summer homework a few days ago… getting really nervous but also excited!

Darn, should I be worried now? My school currently only offers 1 AP for sophomores in the entire school, and the future doesn’t seem that promising. I also heard that my counselor is calling up people to change their classes to less advanced due to scheduling conflicts… I haven’t gotten the call yet, but a few of my friends with a similar course set-up have been called up.

I got my schedule yesterday it’s:

Spanish
Health(online)
English
Biology
CC algebra 2 (what’s cc, is it common core?)
Exp Computer Science
Volleyball

Is this okay? I’m so confused about my schedule I’m not sure if this is honors or not. I looked around and everyone’s schedule looked the same with a few different electives.

@HopefulStud Our school is really strict about APs too. Freshmen can’t take any, and sophomores can only take 1. Juniors/seniors are unlimited, of course. It’s pretty annoying… Everyone I’m seeing here is taking APs freshman year! Well, at least I’m not alone :)

Oh well… I’ll take some pre-reqs by myself, and try to get some APs in next year. Atleast I get to focus on some side projects for now.

My school is not that strict with APs… I get to take AP Bio this year without taking a regular biology class before. But I’m super nervous!

Just finished my first day of school! For some reason, AP Human Geography seems easier than my regular classes… He gave us homework: a map where you had to fill in the blanks for each continent and ocean. You also had to color the oceans light blue and each continent a unique color. I swear it’s honestly like a fifth grade worksheet. And the worst part is… He said he would hang up the best ones up in class for the whole year.

you start early, that’s human geo for you.

Guys do you think I should take AP bio. I can switch from honors bio to AP. I think I can handle it because I love science and I always feel like my other classes are way too easy even if they’re honors. I’m taking all honors and volleyball and vocal ensemble. So I think I can handle 1 AP class. What do you guys think

The key to have a great freshman year is to have as much fun as you can.
The freshman academics are easy and less important so relax a bit. Get a girlfriend. Go to homecoming.
It’s okay to slack off a little.
Your next two years following freshman year will be difficult.
Until the last semester of senior year, then you can slack off more.

Don’t work hard, work smart. ;)

Have fun this year so that you can work harder your soph and junior years.

@SnickersU have you taken ap bio?

@Cookiesandcreme

I have. It’s the easiest AP science ( besides enviro ), but still can be pretty rigorous for a freshman. It’s nothing compared to the awfulness of AP chem.

It’s worth taking if you are aiming for a higher rank and if you truly love science. If this is your only AP, then it isn’t a big deal if you take it. If you decide it’s too much it’s really not difficult to move down to honors bio. It won’t harm your gpa that much, and you’ll learn from the experience. I enjoyed the class.

Thank you so much!! I love science especially biology and I always find my classes super easy

The sophomores in Honors Algebra 2 don’t like me >< When I came into class today, one cornered me like, “Why are you here???” and Idk. There’s one other freshman in my class though, so we will stick together I guess there’s 3 freshmen taking it now, I didn’t know the girl in my class was too. But in the halls after Geometry I heard some random guy say “Dude there’s an 8th grader in Algebra 2 cause my friend said so,” and I was like… That’s me? >> I’m not that short…

AP Human Geography… Surprisingly mainly upperclassmen. I heard last year it was almost completely freshmen.

How’s everyone enjoying high school so far?

nervous about high school.
