2 week bump.

Fools… XD

Lulz…

These kids…

A few years, and this thread will be a war zone, a fraternity of students as they battle the forces of APUSH, AP Calc and AP Physics…

Have fun!

Also, don’t waste your youth. Really. Don’t.

winter break bump.

Lol no need to keep bumping wcao, just wait until spring when the next gen of geniuses are curious about college

okay wcao, here’s a piece of advice for you (and all incoming freshman):

DO NOT, and I repeat, DO NOT overestimate yourself. I thought I would do well in all of my classes, but I’m gonna get a 88-89 in AP Gov this semester. And I’m only taking 1 AP. Don’t load up on as many APs as possible and invest all your time in your hardest class. The fluff classes like electives, freshman bio, etc. you don’t have to study for. Just make sure you spend 95%+ on your hardest classes.

Over and out. Happy Kwanzaa every1

Yo, all you freshies:

Dont procrastinate. Get stuff done out of the way AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

Be respectful to teachers. Good relationships=good grades=good letters of recommendation

Start prepping for your PSAT/SAT/ACT NOW. It will pay dividends.

Join clubs you are interested in, or sports. Don’t just hang around the house and study 24/7.

Start thinking about what you want to be in life. Start the college process now.

tl;dr: Get good grades, study hard, don’t fall behind, and have fun.

I started the 2017 thread in February, and I still thought that was early haha.

Anyway, good luck in high school!

dear god no

time for high school registrations.

Megga bump.

Lazy bump.

Guys have fun freshman year. It will be the last time you have in a long time.

Horribly, horribly cliched, but nevertheless, accurate advice to survive and flourish during your Freshman year:

High School is tumultuous. It is an amoral force of nature that will come at you with all its got, whether it be through academic hell or social turmoil. You’ll experience success and failure, pride and shame, love and hate. Lovely cliches that will make up a large part of your emotional fiber these next 4 years. I know you’re gagging by now, but please, bear with me:

You’ll fall in love (or at least, what you think is love - spoiler alert, it isn’t actually love) - you’ll have your heart then broken. And you’ll fall in adolescent-infatuation once more, only to be crushed again. Its okay. This is the type of stuff that makes you stronger, and believe it or not, kinder, as well. Some are immune to the nuances of high school romance - I was not.

You’ll know what its like to stay up all night to finish a project that you know you should’ve started a week before, but even still, you’ll do it all over again, procrastinating on your next project, essay, report, or presentation. Procrastination becomes normalcy. It cannot be overcome or suppressed, it can only be perfected. Embrace it.

Drama and gossip are easy to get caught up in because its fun; (I mean, what better way to strike up a conversation with old friends than to talk smack about your mutual enemy) – but it will bite you back so hard, you cannot even imagine. Don’t dish out what you yourself can’t take. If the thought of a group of kids snickering at your haircut makes you cringe, don’t do the same to someone else. Its messed up, man. Don’t be like that.

Do not let a poor grade discourage you. You are bright. You can do well. A few bumps in the road needn’t be an unstoppable force which keeps you from realizing your potential. So you bombed that pop quiz in Chem? C’est la vie. Atomic weight is tricky - but you’ll get the hang of it. Keep trying. Fall down. Get back up.

Most importantly:
Do not ever let anyone make you feel like you’re less than what you are. Don’t keep toxic company among you - its much better to eat lunch alone in the library than it is to eat lunch with people that push your buttons and tear your self esteem apart. Never feel inferior. You are not inferior.

We have a thread already? I spend too much time on the prep school forum, I didn’t even notice this!

Haha we have a thread! I’m going to be a 9th grader too What I’ve seen so far does not encourage me lol.

I’ve been seeing a lot of 8th graders posting recently, so I figure they may want to see this.

I’m an old person, and like the other old CC’ers, feel free to AMA

I didn’t even know there was a thread for us already! Haha xD

And you can’t even fathom how difficult this is going to be. Your brain will rewire itself so that you can only form rational thoughts if they need to be typed double-spaced and handed in ten minutes from now.
