That is still great. I transferred schools and my new school has 6 periods instead of 7, so I can’t take all the classes I had planned on.
I miss sleeping in, I have a zero this year. Where id you move to?
I do too, but I have adjusted so much. ( It’s weird how when we were like 8 we wanted to go to bed later but now that we are about 15 we wish to go to bed earlier.) I am from Oklahoma!
Thats cool, is there plenty to do over?! I live in california! I know right, I used stay up all night playing videos games until this summer and now I’m waiting for summer to arrive to sleep in.
There are so many cool things to do here! I love to go rafting, but we have to drive to a different city about 45 minutes away to go in the Illinois River. I’m just a regular city girl. I’m not really big into the country activities. I love going to California I have been numerous times, I’m going to be in the Rose Bowl Parade this year!!!
My Schedule:
AP Euro
Honors English 2
Honors Chemistry
Honors Pre- Cal
Chior
French 2
I wish I could take more AP classes!!
I can’t wait to take AP Euro my senior year! They have this thing called around the table…it is sooooooooo cool.
My schedule:
AP Gov
English 10 (sadly, no honors)
Precalculus BC
Latin 3 Pre-AP
French 3
Honors Chemistry
Western Civilization II Honors
The only sophomore AP’s at my school are Gov or Physics. (Not both-- and I won’t be taking Physics again anyway because I hate it :P.) No French honors either.
@Stalasphyx64, I took APMT this year with a bunch of seniors and had a great time. Good luck self-studying; it might be a little tricky but I can send you some resources if you want. FYI, practice the aural stuff loads.
Here’s my schedule:
Honors Precalculus
Honors English II
Honors US History I
Honors Chemistry
AP Biology
AP Statistics
Accounting I
Health/Gym
I’m not taking a language during school. I think I will be getting tutored in French 2 and French 3 because a) I’d rather take an AP or Honors course and b) I can get ahead and take AP French in my senior year.
Wow all your schedules look so good!! Do you guys volunteer?
@cookiesandcream ahh that’s a sore point. I had an interview at a hospital for a volunteer position, she told when I scheduled the interview that it’s fine that I’m only fourteen and when I called yesterday to confirm the appointment she said I needed to be sixteen. I looked at all the other hospitals in my area and they also require you to be sixteen:(
Same its hard to volunteer as a 14/15 year old. I hoped I wasn’t the only one finding this hard. What clubs are you guys in?
There were 2 hospitals that 15 years could volunteer at… I just missed the deadline because times for getting a TB shot are inconvenient. I am slowly joining clubs because my school has a lot of offerings and I want to put my time towards the most interesting ones.
Aww that sucks! Have you guys found it easy making friends? Unfortunately I’m the loner but everyone talks to me in class and doesn’t hang out with me outside of class. Plus I’m super shy
I always find the differing of standard number of classes really interesting!
A lot of times I see “Wow you have seven classes!” on here but I am thinking “Only 7?”.
my schedule:
AP Lang
AP Euro
Honors/Acc. Pre-calc
Honors Chem
AP World
AP Physcology
Latin II
I have not volunteered at all. I’m only 15 and I’m trying to volunteer with my friends this summer, but it’s hard to find somewhere for 15 year olds. Any tips?
@Cookiesandcreme That is my exact situation! I moved schools in March and at my new school I talk to many people in class but during lunch it was pretty weird to not sit with anyone. So I started to sit with this girl who rides my bus and her friends but that was pretty weird also. So I tried out for Color Guard (I have no experience) and made the team. The girls make me feel so welcome and if I am walking down the hallway or something they call my name and wave. I sometimes sit with them at lunch, but I like to change tables every now and then because I talk to a lot of people on my bus.
How many classes do you have? I used to have seven. Now I have six. Inserts sad face @wonderfulreads
Create your own volunteering opportunities but get a sponsor/supervisor so that you can have someone to confirm your work. @neonerudite
@aspiringgirl 8 or 9 is the norm around here. I thought it was that way everywhere until I read this website.
@Cookiesandcreme I go to a K-12 private school, where I’ve been since 3rd grade. Socially, I’m close to the bottom of the pile, but I always have people to sit with at lunch, go to school dances with, etcetera. I’ve moved up the social ladder a little bit this year, though, so that’s good :). I wouldn’t care, except it’s hard to be elected to club and student council positions if you’re not popular.
@neonerudite I feel your pain. I really haven’t volunteered much this year, but this summer I’m going to volunteer at the library and at an old person’s home near my house. You could try the equivalents of those in your community, or you could create your own volunteering initiative. Two boys in my class started a tutoring system with a Boys and Girls Club near our school.
What are your favorite classes, guys?
My favorite class would be either AP Biology or AP Gov & Pol
