@aspiringgirl @gotmar I hope next year I’ll join a club that will help me with that but so far nothing has worked! Even sports. In my volleyball team even though there’s different magnets they all hang out with each other. No one told me though. Idk what to do anymore. I guess I’m accepting it now since I’ve always been this way
I hope you do too, and I wish you the best of luck @Cookiesandcreme
@Cookiesandcreme I really shy too. It the end of the year and I have yet to make any good friends yet. I have the same problem. Lots of people will say hi or talk to me during class, but out of class? Nope. My old friends have drifted away too; I still sit with them since I don’t really have anyone else, but they don’t really talk to me anymore. I’m going to try to join a medical club next year so maybe I can find some people with similar interests!..I hope…
@sewin2music I don’t talk to the people I sit with either; I just act like I have just gotten 3 million notifications on my phone, but I haven’t gotten any. Since we promoted from eighth grade, all my best friends go to different schools. Are you new to College Confidential?
@sewin2music joining clubs and service activities really helped me meet a lot of new people!!
I feel the same way x.x I haven’t made friends and I don’t talk to my friends that sit with, MY close friends all went to different schools. I tried keeping in touch with them but they usually don’t answer my messages or calls because they are busy with their new friends. @aspiringgirl @sewin2music
Same! My “best friend” practically ditched me when we went to different schools.
I practically don’t fit in a group either because the type of people i’m hanging with right now or because I’m not as intelligent as them. I hang out with people who don’t really try hard in school which is kinda bad because I want to be surrounded with students who are in clubs and are really outgoing…
If only we went to the same schools… We are like perfect matches except across the U.S.
My friends are kinda the same except for like 1 who most of the time replies. The people who I hang out with (or shall I say HUNG) think I am some sort of genius because I took 2 AP classes my freshmen year, and I tried to tell them I’m just a regular person. A person who makes grammar and spelling mistakes, and that I text like a regular teen. @HSTeen @Cookiesandcreme
Yes!! My friends judge me too based on my classes. Since we just chose our classes for next year my friends were judging because I was taking many AP classes and that I’m going to have no life and that I’m going to drown in those classes.
Trust me. You aren’t unless, you have horrible time management skills and never pay attention in class. I had 2 AP classes this year AP Bio and AP Gov & Pol. 1st semester I got a B in AP Bio it was an 87%, and I was really upset because it was my only B. This semester I have all A’s, for now but I just have 5 more days of school left including tomorrow (my old school gets out tomorrow).
I get out in 3 weeks and I have 3 B’s ): We had late start this week which felt amazing because I got to sleep in.
I love days when I get to sleep in, but what classes do you have B’s in?
My Schedule:
Honors Pre-Calc/Trig
Honors English 10
Honors Chemistry
Honors Physics
AP Art History
French 2
I still have one leftover slot for both semesters though. I wish I could take AP Computer Science or AP Statistics because I have the prerequisites done, but since it says grades 11 and 12 in the course selection guide so I guess that means I can’t… I think I’ll just try to ask my counselor after the school year starts if there are any available places in either class and hope I can get into one of them :s
So glad I got into honors chem and physics this year! I just asked my dad to email the person in charge of the honors program about how I could test in (since they only do things when parents get involved) and they just automatically let me in
Honors Biology, English and Geography. They are all honor classes, English we didn’t do much this semester we only did one essay and I got a D on it and that brought me down a whole grade.
I hate when that happens!
@LosingCrayon what class are you going to feel the open slot with if you cant take AP Comp. Science or AP Stats?
@aspiringgirl Everyone in my class hates how she teaches because she makes the most randomest assignments/quizzes.
@LosingCrayon I too want to take AP Comp Sci but juniors and seniors get priority. Hopefully upperclassmen change their mind about it so we can join it
@HSTeen I’m getting a few B’s too ;n; I slacked off a lot 3rd quarter and got an 81 in English, but this semester I was doing a lot better and I had a 95 But I forgot to do a rough draft for a paper and that single homework grade brought my quarter grade down 5% so my hopes of getting a B+ for the semester are ruined ;n;
And then I’m getting a B in Algebra because I just stopped trying I guess. I stopped doing a lot of the homework and never really studied at all. And it really sucks, because I feel like my teacher liked me first semester, but now he thinks I’m a slacker (which I am tbh). If I actually did the homework (which isn’t even a lot), I probably would have gotten an A like I did last semester. Now I’m just hoping for a B+…
Then I’m getting A-'s in Biology and AP Human Geography. Biology is my fault for not doing the homework and getting bad grades on tests (started with a new teacher). But when 4th quarter started I got my old teacher again and she mostly graded homework for completion and the tests were easier I’m just relying on the final to bring my grade up 1% so I can get an A. Then AP HuGe is probably because I got a new teacher this semester, I really miss my old one but I feel like my new one prepared me for the AP exam better.
I swear I’m gonna get straight A’s next year though :DD (i hope ;n;)
Right now, I have the worst math teacher… He is a football coach and teaches horribly. I am so glad I haven’t been in his class all year! Everyone says he is horrible but I use khanacademy.com to get ahead(thank goodness it’s free)
