@aspiringgirl Don’t mean to brag or anything, I mean you’re already in Pre-Calc so it shouldn’t matter , but my Algebra II teacher makes me do so much busy work because I get done earlier than the rest of the class and I find it super annoying having to go over stuff I have definitely already mastered. She said I was going to be starting “harder” stuff next week, but I am calling bs on that one. My school has such an easy curriculum, or at least it seems that way.
@apple1893 Yeah buddy, I do Indoor, and Tennis in the spring. What events do you do in track?
I do the 800 and the 1600. Do you play JV,Recreation, or Varsity @tonyk16
This is my first year doing track so, I’m not really sure yet lol. Our first meet isn’t till Sat. and I am doing field events like triple or long jump and shot put. And Varsity Tennis. @apple1893 You know I was thinking about Basketball, but I changed my mind and did Indoor instead, and it has been pretty fun actually. Lots of great people I got to meet on the team.
If my school had winter track, I would be doing that, but I do basketball cause it’s the next best thing. The meets are super fun though, Two hours of waiting for you event is more fun than it sounds. @tonyk16
@awesomepolyglot That’s a really interesting story lol :))
@raffie and @LeopardFire Thanks for the info.Will definitely try it out if I ever need it.
@apple1893 Same! Algebra II, at least for the first semester, is simply just a review of Algebra I and then adding the new Algebra II stuff onto it. And I also did the whip in Spanish class after I gave a presentation on celebrity birthdays. The whole class gave me a round of applause.
@raffie You should have told your teacher “Is it too late now to say sorry?” Lol
@apple1893 I did Wrestling but I had to quit, it became too time consuming and I didn’t always have access to transportation, and I am planning to do Track in the Spring.
My story happened last week. I was in Spanish class and 30 minutes after we went to class we went to lunch. Towards the end of the lunch, I went to my counselor to talk about course scheduling for the upcoming years. I stayed there for about half an hour after I was supposed to be in class. When I went to class, everyone started chanting and giving me applause. My Spanish teacher, however, looked so mad.I didn’t tell her I was at my counselor and she was so worried about where I was that she called the security guard to go on a manhunt to find me. Everyone, including my Spanish teacher, thought I got into a fight. The fact that my Spanish teacher cares so much about me and she also knows when I’m not in class just makes me want to cry.
@ak2018 A fight, really? How many kids are in that class?
NOOO!!! I got a 67% on my AP World quiz today so now I’m staying at an 89% :(( :(( :((
@ak2018 I guess it was my attempt as a 5 foot 4 (more like 5 foot fury amirite) to sound intimidating.
@apple1893 Our school rarely has any fights which is one of reasons I like my current high school more than my old middle school. So if there was ever a fight, no one would know.
@Phantomlink Sorry to hear that, I just finished my Geometry EOC test and I honestly didn’t know anything. I know I flat out guessed on most of those questions, but it doesn’t matter. Now I just need to well in Algebra II. I hate Geometry!
@awesomepolyglot :))
Just had my first day of exams today, art and APWH. Art was obviously easy and we had a DBQ for history. I think I did pretty ok, but then again I suck at DBQs so we will have to wait and see. Are y’all’s exams before or after break?
@sewin2music How was the LEQ? Mine first one is on thursday and I’m worried.
@tonyk16 I’m in pre-calc this year. It’s just Algebra review.
It’s weird that everyone has exams right now. I just had mid-quarter last week. Exams are in a month.
soo many people are getting their college letters back and I’m stressed for them. My best friend’s sister just got accepted to Harvard though! (She’s valedictorian for her year) but my friend got waitlisted at Georgetown :(. She has AMAZING scores on everything and I feel so bad for her. But it really does prove that even being second in your class and having super great everything won’t always get you accepted :(.
@frazzledazzle But, essentially, Algebra II feels like a lot of review of Alg. I with a little bit of dabbling on new concepts so wouldn’t that make Pre-Calc a super review of Alg. I? (Jk) I talked to my teacher today and she says that we should be off of the easy stuff, hehe, and onto new stuff before the end of the quarter. It just feels like this isn’t preparing me for Pre-Calc/Calc.
And same, Quarter 2 ends third week of January for me, with mid terms being all that week.
@mamaba Well Congrats on your friends there sister there! Unfortunately that is true, my friends brother was valedictorian of his class and didn’t get into his dream school, MIT , but still got into a fairly prestigious school, can’t remember the name right now.
@frazzledazzle @tonyk16 Yeah my 2nd quarter ends at the end of January, just for some odd reason my school decided to do exams before break. I was wondering if this was common or just my school. Apparently it’s just my school. We have great teaches, classes and all, but administration can’t seem to get their crap together.
@singingwriting LEQ was so much easier that I expected!!! It was compare contrast the political/social policies of Louis XIV and Napoleon. I got 44/49 but I set the grading curve so in the grade book it was 44/44. SO happy right now!!! I am going to get an A in the class!!!
LEQ’s really aren’t that bad as long as you have the structure down. Don’t worry to much! I make graphic organizers so I can cross compare different ppl or events on one paper
I finished HOSA testing for Round 1 last Thursday and didn’t think my team would make top 10 in Forensic Medicine. My partner (twin sister) and I barely studied. Turns out, I was wrong. We placed 4th out of 58 teams and now move onto area. From the 10 area teams, only 3 make it to state. I was actually prepared to not advance and was thinking about all the time I would save for other things. My sister is now making me study and I’m a little scared because I don’t want to do bad or appear like I’m completely incompetent. This was the first year our school competed in HOSA and all the other schools in our district underestimated us. I don’t want to disappoint anyone now. Anyone else have experience with HOSA competitions? I’m freaking out a little. :-SS
@Hamlon I wish my school had HOSA!!!
