High School Class of 2021

Next year I’m volunteering at a hospital, HPAC, Key club, Art club, student ambassador, and track. Not doing many STEM related extracurriculars until sophomore or junior year so I can do research with a professor and shadow a neurologist hopefully.

@Potter3846 I plan to do Quiz Bowl, CS Club, Student Council, Environmental Club, and Track

also @Potter3846 My schedule is

  • Pre AP Pre Calculus
  • Pre AP English 1
  • Pre AP Bio
  • Pre AP Human Geo
  • AP CS
  • French 2
  • and then 2 courses my school requires for freshmen, both weighted

Have any of y’all taken the sat yet? I took it just for practice and got a 1440. I have a feeling I’ll have trouble raising it up a lot more though :confused: whatever I’ll try to study the best that I can

@pldmua2003 No, but that’s a really good score and we haven’t even started high school yet! By the time you’re a junior you will have no problem getting a 1500+!

I haven’t taken the SATs yet, and I probably won’t until junior year, I absolutely loathe standardized tests.

My extracurriculars for freshmen year:

Science Olympiad (my high school is a regular top 3 at nationals, it’s going to be intense if I want to make the team by the end of sophomore year)
USABO (the studying should go hand in hand with some of my Scioly events)
Volunteering at a museum (not school-related)
Art Club --> minimal effort, I’ll probably just go to finished up art class projects anyway
Squash/Badminton --> Literally the only two sports I play, since it’s a winter sport, I probably won’t do it since Science Olympiad will probably interfere with it
Reading Olympics --> I read a lot anyway, I’ll just replace the books I’d normally read with these books, no biggie
Academic Decathlon --> Mainly doing it because the club leader made it sound super interesting, don’t know if I’ll stay, depends on time commitment
Art Magazine --> Definitely, art is life

@pldmua2003
I took the SAT for CTY not too long ago. I didn’t pace myself very well, so as a result, I didn’t get to answer a few questions towards the end of the writing and the math sections. The room was also absurdly cold, that in itself kind of ruined my momentum too. Regardless, I scored a 780V and 620M on a practice test I did the day before the test!

I also took the SAT for CTY and I did awfully which I fully predicted—I accidentally skipped a math section by not fully managing my time, and went to the test with no breakfast and 5 hours of sleep. I got a 1220 (670 E, 550 M). I’m doing some test prep over the summer and believe that I can raise it to at least a 1400 by September, and hopefully 1540+ by junior year.

I really don’t want to take the SAT I think I will take the ACT. I just don’t like how the SAT is set up. I’ve taken some parts of the ACT but not the whole thing at once.

Hey guys,

Just found out there is a Class of 2021 thread haha. Anw, what are you guys doing this summer? I am doing Arts and Algebra 2 online.

@noeyeskid

This is actually the FOURTH time I’m saying what I’m doing this summer in the same thread… but here goes: volunteering at natural history museum,visiting family, taking Biology H

haha, I’m sorry to not read the whole thread

I also really want to do Biology over the summer but I’m in Texas so that course require an EOC exam so I cant =((

I’m excited to announce that I’ve been awarded the student with the highest achievement in my eighth grade class during my graduation. I didn’t expect to get it!

What achievements did you get? @raventhemage

@noeyeskid It was a plaque that says:

Bleh Bloop (school name) Middle School

The Bleh Bloop (retired teacher at my school) Achievement Award

Bleh Bloop (my name)

Awarded to the student who has joyfully built the foundation for lifelong learning through perseverance and an insatiable thirst for knowledge.

2017

@raventhemage omg that’s awesome, congrats!

just got my transcript for this year - lowest grade was a 97, lowest grade on a high school course was a 98, and because i’m almost positive our district weights honors and AP classes the same i’m going into high school with 5 HS credits and a 4.8 weighted GPA (4.0 UW). pretty dang proud

Oh wow! I got a 96,97,98,99,and a 99 in my classes (others are nongraded, annoying electives like phys ed and family consumer science)

I got a 94,95,98,98,100 in my classes. My highest grades are in STEM classes and I’m starting highschool with a 4.0 UW.

I just got the High Honors for CTY!!
