So I'm an upcoming Freshman in high school and I came up with a few questions:

What is dual enrollment and how am I able to participate If I choose after being inquired?

Am I able to double up my courses like taking Physics and AP Chemistry at the sametime? Is this dual enrollment?

If I can double up, how would it work out and would my grading policies be changed?

It depends a lot on your state and your school, but dual enrollment is when you take college courses for both high school and college credit. Some high schools have college courses taught on their campuses, but a lot of times you’ll go to the college and take the course. It’s common for people to take DE classes at community colleges, but you can also take them at universities. In some states dual enrollment is free, but in most it isn’t.
To find out more, go to the website of the college you want to take classes at and see if they have any information.

Assuming you mean high school physics taken in a high school, dual enrollment has absolutely nothing to do with doubling up on science courses.

I’m not sure I understand your question, but I think you’d just take high school physics and AP Chemistry at the same time. The grading policy wouldn’t be changed.

Ok! Thanks for the in-depth information!
