High School classes

What classes in high school help you to get into a target IB school. This may sound like a dumb question, and I am sorry for that. I know doing well in math classes will do you wonders but what did you guys take? I'm thinking about taking an online course next year and I wanted to make sure I wasn't wasting my time. Lastly, if you're not going to help, don't post.

I'm a sophomore, if that helps in any way.

Get As in the hardest schedule you can possibly handle. Math is good, but take courses like AP English, AP Physics, AP Chem, AP History, etc.

How about AP electives like AP micro/macro and AP psych?

Micro/macro would definitely be good. AP Psych probably isn’t viewed to be as rigorous. You want to excel in rigorous courses.

Thanks
I have one more question about psych
on collegeboard it says its a semester long but my school has a year long class.
So is it a semester class or year long?

Depends on the school. At mine it is full year.

if you are in high school, isn’t it a little early to start thinking about investment banks? if that’s a direction you know you want to go this early, I would focus on trying to get into the most prestigious schools and then pick your major according to the type of area you are looking to enter

That’s kinda what I asked sir.

Take the hardest classes you can and try to get into an Ivy.

Don’t worry about loading your schedule with the hardest classes, unless you are confident you can get As in them. Essentially, focus on keeping your grades really high, getting a strong SAT score, and doing things outside of school, volunteering, club involvement, sports, etc - your goal shouldn’t be to impress IB, it should be to impress an ivy league/target school - from there, you press for banking. If you want to take hard courses, then go for things like AP math, sciences, business-type courses that you can get out taking in college to get into more interesting courses in college quicker.
