So I'm a high school concurrent enrollment student looking to take two online classes at SMC over the summer. At SMC, concurrent enrollment students aren't allowed to enroll until June 1st for the summer semester; this is only two weeks before classes start! Sure enough, when June 1st came around, the two classes I wanted were already full. Is there any way I can still enroll in these classes?

Sorry for the very specific question, but I haven't been able to contact an SMC representative.

Thanks.

You’ll have to crash the course. Email those professors because some do make their own wait list based on who has contacted them first. Tell them you’re interested in the course (leave the HS part out) and explain your enrollment date was June 1, blah blah. That’s the best you can do, unfortunately… :

Thanks for the response.

How can I leave out the HS part? That’s the whole reason I wasn’t allowed to enroll until June 1st.

But, man, it makes no sense that concurrent enrollment students aren’t allowed to enroll until June 1st. By that time all the classes are full anyway! What a hassle.

Yeah, well, life’s a b1tch.

Professors don’t know anything about anyone. Just say you were assigned to a very late enrollment appointment so the classes you need were filled. Maybe kiss their ass a bit – “I was told that you are a amazing professor and I would be thrilled to experience this class with you.” Ahahaha. I’ve done it. It worked (whether it was his being nice or my sucking up, I don’t know).

weak sauce

i was taking real classes at college while being a full-time high school student

If you were smart, you would’ve taken them online over the summer.

Try again on the deadline to pay fees, anyone who doesn’t pay will be dropped.

Well, I emailed the professors of the two classes I want to take, and one of them said he will give me an add code for the class, and the other said he will put me on the waitlist. Overall pretty successful, I guess. What are my odds of me being taken off the waitlist for my second class?
