High school coursework!

Will I get automatically rejected if I don't take Calculus in high school? I am thinking of applying to Wharton and I'm currently taking Precalculus (junior year). If options if I don't take Precalculus would be trigonometry or accounting/statistics (I THINK).

THANKS IN ADVANCE!

PS: I'm a Puerto Rican

For Wharton, I’d say not taking Calculus in school is pretty much setting yourself up for a rejection.

Depends on what your school offers. If you are unable to take calculus, then it wouldn’t count against you. Also, your minority status could potentially negate it a bit.

Also, Wharton is like ummm freaking WHARTON so taking Calculus and then get rejected either would be not a bit dissapointing but A LOT! My second choice is Georgetown and after that, well, study here in Puerto Rico and then make my MBA outside. REALLY CONFUSED!!!

Look at “High School Transcripts” [Penn Admissions: High School Preparation](http://www.admissionsug.upenn.edu/applying/hsprep.php)

Then calculus it is! -.-

Good choice! :P

Also, Wharton recommends that you take the Math Subject tests…just something to consider…

What about if you take the BC Calc AP then get a 3? Does anyone know if that’s a killer? (For some reason, I ended up with a B in the class, I go to a hard school, just screwed up towards the end).

What’s best? B in Calc or A in something easier? Even though BOTH ARE BAD, I know.

@samonouh: Thanks for the mentioning the subject tests, I didn’t know. I’ll consider it for sure!
