High School drop out but 4.0 in CC?

Well I dropped out of High School as a junior (I know Stupid), however I got my GED and went to Community College to get my AA in business, I have maintained a 4.0 average and am looking to transfer. Can I get into any decent business school with this? I know I can't pull off Harvard or Stanford but is there any decent ones?

In reality, most schools aren’t going to pay much attention to your high school career now. The 2 years of Community College carry far far more weight…I’m sure you will find a place that you will like.

I agree - look on the bright side. You might have messed up, but you turned your life around and now you’re obviously a good student.

Make an appt w/your CC’s “transfer advisor” – their job is to answer questions just like yours.

You might also want to ask on the Business Major forum.

You absolutely will be able to. I had a similar situation…barely graduated HS, 4.0 in CC. I start at the University of Minnesota for computer engineering this fall.

I’m in a similar situation. I dropped out of high school my sophomore year, then got my GED once I turned 18. I was out of school for several years, then started at a CC at age 25. Now I’m majoring in physics and holding a 4.0, and planning on transferring to UIUC after I get my associates. The fact that you dropped out of high school isn’t going to matter a whole lot. They’ll see the 4.0 that you’ve held in CC, and know that you’re a good student. It would make a difference if you were applying to a school like Harvard or something, but transfer acceptance into schools like that are abysmally low anyway. You’ll be able to get into a good school, don’t worry.

I barely graduated high school with a 1.6 overall gpa LOL
Transferred successfully with a 3.8 gpa to ucla

Absolutely possible. It feels damn great to turn your life around. Goodluck my friend.

I have a relative who dropped out of high school, did great in community college, and transferred to Columbia in New York. Take time on your applications and show that you are now hard working and responsible :)
