OK so if my calculations r correct I'll finish high school with a 3.35 Gpa and will probably go to a junior college. Then I see myself getting a 4.0 both years. How does this raise my total GPA when apply to colleges to transfer to?
Thanks

Your community college GPA isn’t factored into your high school GPA at all. They’re completely separate. Also, colleges don’t put much weight into your high school GPA if you’re coming from a CC with an AA.

Could u please give me some ideas of colleges I could have a chance of transferring to if I got the 4.0’s?

What type of colleges are you interested in? State, Ivy, top 50? A 4.0 gives you a good chance at all state colleges. Ivies don’t let many people in regardless of GPA. A 4.0 at a CC is still hard to do, so don’t set yourself up for failure.

A 4.0 could probably get you into your state school and some non-Ivyish privates.

List of schools I might consider:
Washington
Gonzaga
Oregon
Portland
Boise State

I’d say a 4.0 would give you a great shot at all of those schools.

Is berkley. Or Stanford a reach?

Yes, they would be a reach for ANY applicant, even with a 4.0 GPA. You would need to stand out with ECs, volunteering, working, research, letters of recommendation, etc. Also, a good essay would help. I don’t have the numbers in front of me, but I imagine they accept only 5-10% of all transfer applicants. Your head is in the right place though with your initial college list and throwing in a few reach schools is a good idea too, because anything can happen.

How do you see yourself going from a 3.35 GPA to a 4.0 (60 credits) in college?

I screwed around my first semester of my freshman year of high school and got a 2.9. Then I messed up last semester and got a 2.3. I guess I see my self applying myself more because the JC GPA is more important

Fair enough, just keep up the work ethic and you should be fine. Any idea of what you would like to major in?

Most public flagships after two years of college will not require high school transcripts or SAT scores, but alot of the more selective privates still will.

So a state school like Washington Oregon or Boise St wouldn’t nessicarly require transcripts but places like Portland and gonzaga would?

As for major I’m stuck with 5 on the table at the moment they are as follows
computer science
stats
Buisness
Journalism
history
I would particularly like to double but I can’t think of any good combos of the 5.

I know gonzaga will not require and neither will portland but they are not what I would consider to be selective private schools. Places like Stanford if you wanted to apply will require transcripts and SAT scores still.

Well those majors are all over the place so you should aim to get into a college that overall has good departments in these fields.

I see. Thanks!
