High school extracurricular activities

Hi everyone! I'm about to enter sophomore year and I really care and worry about my future college and all kind things related to college. I'm in the IB program and I got all As in my all my classes in my freshmen year, so the only thing I worry about right now is the extracurricular activities. The only club that I joined last year is the math club ( if that is considered an extracurricular activity), and i'm going to be in it for the rest of my high school years. I've heard from many people that extracurriculars look good on the transcript, and that colleges care about leadership and all, but I don't know what activity I should do because the problem is that I'm kind of shy and not really active. I really really want to involve in extracurricular activities in my school, but there are too many, plus I don't feel like talking (but I really really want to!) since I'm not good at speaking English (I've only been in US for two years ) . That is my major problem:(. Please give me some advices on how and what i can do to join those kind of activities. Thank you :)

wow shinee? that was my sister’s favorite singer,
what the heck , if thatis what is.

It’s okay if you’re a bit of an introvert, just take small steps at a time. Don’t go around starting a student council or anything (unless you want).
Firstly, why do you think that colleges like a student with a lot of extracurricular involvement? It shows the student has a passion in something and has been dedicated to it. There is a good reason they like it, although some just do it for college apps.
If you want to join an extracurricular activity, go for something you are interested in. Sometimes you have to have a talent in it such as joining the school orchestra; if you don’t play an instrument you can’t join, or a competitive varsity sports team; only the best can be in it. Other times, genuine reliability and interest is what’s really needed.
What do you like? Do you enjoy books/reading? Then volunteer to be a student librarian. Or if you are interested in international affairs and such, does your school have an Amnesty International Club or a UNICEF club?
Once you’ve joined an extracurricular activity and have gained some confidence, if you think your school needs a club that has not already been founded, then start it. Find a teacher to assist you, some students who might be keen and make sure to advertise it. However if you are satisfied with the extracurricular activities you have already, commit yourself- turn up whenever you are needed and volunteer to take responsibility roles.

Wow, You learn the language fast. You’ve only been here for two years??
