High School GED

Hey guys.

Right, now I live outside the States, and am a month into senior year at my high school. I go to a private school but finance has always been a struggle for my family. They all work so hard just for me to keep attending school, and come universitiy, it’ll be even harder on them. Where I live, the public school system is different from the Americanized system my school follows, so it’s hard to switch from where I am now to public school. I’ve heard that we can take the GED instead of getting a high school diploma. Is it ok for me to drop out in my senior year, still get my trascript for the past 3 years of high school, take the GED, and go to college? My cumulative GPA is 4.0, and I have many extra curriculars in my transcript as of now.

Thank you so much!
