Did anyone catch the premiere of High School Musical on Disney this weekend?
I thought it was amazing... aw Zac Efron<3 and Vanessa Anne Hudgens are so talented. BTW... anyone else see her resemblence to Emma Watson?
lol Watching that movie made me so sad about not doing the Musical at school this year (this would be my first year not acting in a show since 6th grade)...
which leads me to a dilemma of whether I should do the musical or gymnastics next year.

yeah im definitely not a fan. my little sisters watched that movie and i saw one of the songs. first of all, the movie looked completely cheesy, and second of all, none of those people could sing. their voices sounded so altered it didn't even look like the people were actually singing, which is probably true. they sounded like computer generated voices. i mean maybe they could actually sing and they only altered the voices to get a certain sound, but i doubt it. not trying to offend you or your movie choices or anything, but i just had to respond...

I loved the movie :D!!! and it really made me wish that I live in CA so that I could audition for stuff like that or at least that my school's drama dept. wasn't so exclusive and that it put on musicals :(

with all tv musicals, the songs are all recorded beforehand, and when they film, they mouth the lyrics. This is because it is very hard to act in a movie and sing during filming. Not only would the sound quality be poor, but then the actors would also have to cut back on dance sequences, etc. because you can't really sing when you're jumping around or spinning, etc.
it is however, the actual actors singing. Disney almost never uses voice over singers.

hmmm...maybe i'll just get my vengeance by living vicariously through my children when I have them :D

I thought the songs in the musical were very cute (and zac, too :p), and I have a lot of admiration for all those kids because of the dancing they did, and I know exactly how difficult it is to sing while you are concentrating on moving around

Well, I'm with luvbug on this one. The characters were too flat... the main female character (Gabriella) was robotic... sung in the church choir, a "genius girl," etc. It's a Disney movie, though, so I have lower expectations.

I enjoyed it. It's not exactly supposed to be a "deep" movie or anything, guys, it's in the Disney Channel Original Movies category. It's definietly one of the best ones in that category, though.

I actually wanted to see the movie before either way... cause I'm a drama kid and I'm into that stuff...
but Zac Efron being friggin gorgeous is definitely a BIG PLUS!!!
I can't believe some people think he's ugly!!!

that movie made me laugh. I liked how everybody always wore school colors. I especially liked the part at the end when everybody hooked up after the game within 30 seconds. tee hee hee....
