High School Politics....

Im rank 2 in my class of 500ish, but recently I heard that some others who are lower in rank or have received a D in one of their classes may be valedictorian instead of me. Now, the girl who got a D has a mom who works in the school. The other girl who is lower in rank has a rich dad who has donated a lot of money to the school......Should I confront the school about this and see what I can do to fix the situation, or should I just let it go and not even bother? I know I would like to have the status of valedictorian or salutatorian, but it wouldn't bother me much if I didn't receive the title, or reward, or whatever it is...just wanted some feedback, see what others think of the situation....

There is more than one valedictorian?

Go to college and succeed, this high school drama will seem laughable in ... 2 years max. Colleges will recognize your rank and unless you are going Ivy it shoudn't make a huge difference. Good luck. Also, why would you be valedictorian anyway? Wouldn't that go to the student(s) ahead of you? I also find it interesting that you know this other student got a D in a class...lol

yeah, there can be more than 1 val, depends on teh school though, yeah, i figured that i'd laugh about it later, and some schools take the top 1 percent of the school and award them with val status, and the girl who got a D in her class, well, it was hard not to hear about it seeing as how people kept mentioning how it was unfair, it's not like i could just ignore it, although i guess i will ignore all of that crap now....

Yeah I wouldn't stress over it too much, though it would be nice to be "vlad"

high school politics rocks. especially when you create something and other people try to snaggle their butts in on your harvest.

if i were in your position, i'd investigate. it makes me mad that stuff like this actually happens.

hmmm, maybe i'll question them a bit, cuz i can't just sit there and do nothing, but i doubt i'll blow it up into a big thing or anything like that, no point, it's not worth the hassle....thanx guys.
