Did you Google “high school resume”? I’m sure you’ll find some examples.

I have. But of course they’re samples, and I want to see a real one. Someone sent me theirs and it’s really good, so I’m fine now.
Thanks

You’re welcome! I hope my resume helps you. Did you get my current one too? I’m not sure the message went through…

College resumes should only be one page, one sided. You do not need to make it longer. Only include important things they dont need to know every little thing you’ve done. It just highlights your skills, and gives them an idea of who you are.

@Karahuna
yeah, I got it. thanks so much!

seriously reconsider doing one at all. Use a resume instead for summer jobs or internships. I’m not on an adcom or anything but did a lot of research on this topic. Keep it to the application–more is not better. On the application use every opportunity, every short answer, to highlight something about you that helps them get to know you.

ONLY put in the stuff that you played a huge role in or were very passionate about ex. captain of sports team, president of club, 400 volunteer hours etc.

More than 1 page isn’t just unnecessary; it’s pretentious. You haven’t achieved enough to warrant a 2 page or, heavens, 3 page resume.

It was barely 3 pages, by like 3 bullets. I just added too many descriptive details. I got rid of those and now it’s 1 1/3 pages. Still working on shortening and perfecting it.

Do we have to write a resume if all the school asks for is the common app and supplement and nothing else?

Moreover, when do the common app and school websites get updated for 2010?

You never have to make a resume unless the college asks for one; most won’t.

The 2010 common app opens July 1st.
